So hes already at his ceiling? We just hired a coach that excels at teaching tackling. Im sure he can help improve that aspect of his game.

He has size and speed, you cant teach those things. He has good coverage skills and can take TEs out of the game.

He'll make an immediate impact on ST's.

Amazing athleticism, his SPARQ was off the charts.

Day 2 targets with 2 3rd round picks now? We better focus on some WRs and a RB....I think the Edmunds pick takes us out of the running to draft Griffin...

He takes, at times, incorrect angles to the ball. That is generally something all defensive backs struggle with. Coaching; good coaching at that, can either aliveate some to much of those concerns.

This leads me to this question; if people are really worried about Terrell Edmunds then should of that concern also be placed afoot upon Tom Bradley as well since he will be working with him? :hmm:

Unless he was one of the unannounced Pre Draft Visits, do not count on it I am afraid.

Now, Malik Jefferson on the other hand? Round Two? That is something I can get behind.

He must have missed more than 5, hes had some issues with miss tackles but he also made 89 last year. I sometimes think fans believe you should never miss a tackle. Tackling is a league wide problem anyway. Its not unique to the Steelers.

I think its a great pick. I thought they could have gotten him later but its not like they passed over some amazing talent left on the board to take Edmunds. Bates was one of my favorite players but he didnt have a 1st rd grade either. Im surprised they didnt take Reid but not like hes Minkah Fitzpatrick.

    Im happy.

Could roll the dice on Jefferson....I wasn't counting on Griffin I was counting him out....Chark in play in the 2nd and another WR in the 5th RJames or Watson. I think we need a double dip at WR now for sure...
WR or ILB or RB in the 2nd...then OLB,WR,DL from 3rd on....

Will be alot of talent at #60 to choose from.

This is a draft where at #60 we get a guy we thought we could get at #32 and where we took Edmunds at #32 where we thought we would get at #60.

I'm going to let tomorrow night playout. Just don't followup Artie Burns with Sean Davis again.

I sure thought that's what they were gonna do. Even if the jets had taken Mayfield they would have gotten Darnold. Crazy.

Had to appreciate the Titans jumping the Pats to take Evans. Sucks he didn't make it to the Steelers but atleast he's not a patriot.

Yup. In addition, I am also quite pleased with Browns/Cincy/Raven selections.

Jackson has the potential to be a thorn in our ass for years but could easily bust.

Which leads me to this question... don't folks think Bradley had something to do with the scoring/ranking of TE?

I would love to see us draft Antonio Callaway from the Florida Gators. He's one of the best WRs in the class but had went through some problems in college. Recently, Antonio Brown has reached out to him and begun mentoring him! https://syndication.bleacherreport....lks-being-counseled-by-antonio-brown.amp.html

Isn't he the guy that failed the drug test at the combine? A test he knew about months in advance?

Well I am late to the party but am shocked with the pick. I really felt like the Steelers were gonna surprise me and was thinking an oline or dline was going to be the pick. Well I was right did not expect Edmunds as our pick, with that said no sense in complaining I thrust the stall and they have a plan and this guy will fit it. Like what I have read about him and his flexibility is awesome. Welcome to the Burgh FeDerius........:herewego:

Heaven forbid the Steelers ever make such a move. They haven't traded up in the first round in a long time, but it worked out okay the last time they did it. That was Troy Polamalu.

Instead, they settled for a guy with a third-round grade in the first round. Even if he pans out, it was a bad pick because they could have gotten him later.

The way I put it to somebody else was to think of the 1974 draft, arguably the best by any team in NFL history. The Steelers drafted four Hall of Famers. The old story goes that Chuck Noll loved John Stallworth and wanted to take him in the first round. Of course, Noll was right about Stallworth because he ended up in the Hall of Fame. But the scouts knew the Steelers could get him later, so they convinced Noll they should take Lynn Swann in the first round. They ended up getting both and had a pair of Hall of Fame receivers the rest of the decade.

The only good thing about that is that if he's good, they get a fifth-year option on him.

That's probably why these teams are taking the guys they take instead of trading out of the first.

I disagree. I think more people had him as a 2nd round pick more o than a 3rd.

And theres' a strong chance he was not going to be there at #60 if last year was any indicator. Could we have moved down? Of course.

I'm going to see what we do tonight. I think we all will be happy. I think we get a guy that we all thought we would get at #28.
