I think we wanted Vander Esch, but had to go to plan B. If he shuts Gronk down when we play them, we can claim victory on the pick. We will see.

I'm not upset, though. They had this kid high on their board for a reason, he's a versatile hybrid player, which something this defense needs.

So he has top 5 ability, but chooses not to use it consistently.

I am pretty sure it was not his choice to be replaced by Eli Rogers on 3rd/red zone.

Man I don't know about this pick. I have been sitting here since the pick and still haven't come to terms with this pick. If you're gonna reach at least reach on a player that fills a need.

I hope you're right, Blast. I just don't see it. Watched a ton of his games and didn't see anything good.

Most people agreed the two biggest needs were saftey and ILb. The ILbs were gone so they took the saftey they had rated the highest. Just because people rated Edmunds as a second day talent dosent mean the Steelers saw it that way. Look at Rashaad Penny. Nobody had him in the first

I'm just happy we got some defensive help and didn't do something stupid like draft a quarterback.

Unless this guy switches to WR, this is a wasted pick by the Ratbirds. His entire collegiate offense was “Lamar, do something amazing.”

Hahahahah the Ravens just traded the whole way back into the first to take Lamar Jackson.

Thank god. What a horrible move. Do not like him at all as an NFL QB.

If they wanted him they shouldve just traded out of the first and got him. Whats the chances he wouldve been taken in the next 7-8 picks? Teams were trying to trade up.

Inexplicable pick with Landry, Reid, Lamar J, Sony Michel, Guice, Carter, etc.

    Just really frustrating.

Did this hold true with Edmunds? I hadn't heard his name much regarding the Steelers.

That's good. He played for a coach in college that probably is more no nonsense than the coach we have in the NFL.

Should of seen the Edmunds pick coming with Tomlin loving his VA guys. Has the measurables I just think we have enough box safeties....and we could of got him later. I really hope he has the versatility and range to play FS in our scheme and I really hope they are trying to convert B Allen to FS as well. It's a big void in our D as is ILB still...lets hope our second round pick ends up being a steal to take off some of the sting from what I think was kind of a reach....

I will say this: as awful as our pick was...at least we didn't pick Lamar Jackson in the first round.
