It’s a pretty good assessment of the 32 teams but really is just that as I don’t put much to what’s on paper!Balanced teams usually win it all and you really can’t argue with the Rams being the choice as number 1 as they excel on both sides of the ballAt least top 3 at worst. The Steelers at 7 is pretty accurate only because of their lack of balance from an Eye test perspective on the defensive side of the ball regardless of their official statistics which make them look better than their defense really is!Our potental on offense is undeniable and gives us a shot at the trophy as I hope McDonald can stay healthy and leave us with no weaknesses on that side of the ball!He is no Heath but came on in the last few games of the year and opened up the offense!JuJu will have another year under his belt also taking pressure off Antonio!Just improve (not looking for the 85 Bears) on defense and we have a shot!!!!

Rams at 1 was nuts. Didn`t they pan out as frauds when they played a good team? They should have made Rams 9th. Bungles too low sorry to say.

I definitely agree about San Francisco. Anyone still down on the 49'ers has their head in the sand...they are about to be a LEGIT team for years to come. Shanahan and Lynch's turn-around of this team and how fast they did it will be talked about for years.

I’m not down on them. But I do remember the Raiders getting talked up this time last year.

The rankings look fairly solid to me, though I also wonder if teams will be better prepared for the Rams offense this year. They did well with an up temp aggressive approach that seemed to take some teams off guard. They’ll still be good, though.

Sounds to me that I have work to do on a new and upcoming team to write about. :smiley1:

San Francisco is very close to breaking out. Should they nab Edmunds, Fitzpatrick or even James... well...

Personally I thought this list was a joke from top to bottom. Teams out of place, all over the place.

Let's let the 49ers and Rams do something before we anoint them as contenders. Some of the teams at the bottom are way better than given credit for.

I am not on the Jimmy G train yet, I liked him coming out of college but I am not ready to say he is the savior yet........yet. Time will tell they have cap space and new blood but the NFC is pretty tough right now imo. I feel the Rams, Vikes, Saints and champs Philly are all top teams while teams like GB, ATL and the Panthers are all solid contenders. Throw in teams like the Cowpies, NYG, Seachickens and Bucs and there is some tough competition. IMO if Jimmy G is for real they may be a year or two away from breaking into this group.

I'd rank the Steelers closer to the middle of the pack... around 15-17 in the league. The offense is in good shape, but the defense has too many depth issues at ILB and Safety, even after the draft. Steelers are in rebuilding mode on defense. It's gonna be a work in progress for the next 2 seasons at the very least. Too many holes and too many players not living up to expectations on D-line and Linebacking corps. Secondary is the only area that has improved thanks to Haden and Hilton.... and addition by subtraction with Mitchell being released.

It all depends on JuJu and the draft. If he becomes a Terrell Owens on the field, not off it, the Steelers offense will continue to improve. If they can get a dominant defensive starter from a rookie draft pick, the Steelers will remain in the hunt for a Super Bowl trip. Overall, you may be right about the window closing.

JuJu supplanted Bryant as the #2 as far as I'm concerned. On paper, he should have a great year. He's an outstanding compliment to AB. Like I said before... offense, barring any major injuries to key players, is the least of our worries.

Offense could take less stress off the defense, if it becomes more efficient.

I agree the defense needs attention but at the same time you can't ignore the needs of the offense as well. We need to find a replacement for MB in this draft, oline is going to need attention and of course a RB is going to been needed. This team has done a great job with this in the past none better then Juju for example. We may also find a player or two in FA that could come cheap to fill our needs as well.

The rams added Peters, talib, and suh ti a defense that was already pretty solid with with the best dlinemen in football. Then they added brandin cooks to what was the number 1 ranked offense last yr. That's like saying we were frauds because we lost to the 2 best teams we played all last yr.

I'd rank the eagles, Vikings, rams, saints, Pats, jags as the obvious better teams. But you have many fringe teams that may be better than us come this season like Houston, San Fran, Dallas( If they get earl thomas), Broncos. I'd put as at probably 8th we'll definitely make the playoffs and win the division but that's my ceiling until the defense somehow drastically improves from the draft.
