Right? He was double teamed plenty.

    He clearly didnt watch.

There were several people who had bad games. Cam wasnt one of them.

No one though, stepped up and made a play when they had too. Including Heyward.

Where did I say it was all "Heyward's blame"? Nothing wrong with trying to be positive but just shut the crap up and prove it on the field. After the way the D-line played last year they need to clean the cleat marks off their jerseys, shut up, get to work and prove how good they are this coming season. Not imply that you're the greatest D-line in football when you SUCKED BIG TIME last season culminating with the worst defensive performance in the history of Steeler playoff football!!!

I am not saying you did but the thread is about what Heyward said all you guys want to point out how bad they played. That is fine your upset but again this is a team Cam can not control what everyone does but he is a leader and he is trying to pick up his team. What do you want him to do join a winter league and prove he can beat non NFL players up. You guys talk about all the negative talk coming from Bell here is a guy trying to talk positive and all you fans want to trash him. Cam is an all pro had a very good season and is a leader he is proving all that. I think Blast said it best above the Jags had a good game plan to take out Cam. To bad our coaching staff wasn't that good......

Yea and Mike Tomlin lied to him at beginning of season said he would get reps, never did attitude went bad. Kept Mcullers in lieu

of Harrison. Yea great job Mike for messing up a relation with one of your better defensive players for the past 15 years. it's time for a change.

Here we go again when is the Harrison talk gonna stop get over it, Harrison could have played anywhere on this team not just in Watts spot....that was proven in his few games with the cheats. Harrison and Tomlin both handled it wrong and now he is gone let's stop with the Harrison talk it don't end well for us.......move on......

In reality, Watt looked liked he could of used being subbed a few series, and as far as Dupree's side let's not even go there.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but I took it as a bit of trash talking to the rest of the league? And I'm ok with that if you're kicking Ass, but he didn't show up on the field or as a leader that day. JMO, but he's gotta earn back the right to talk smack with his play.
I'm generally one of the more positive people here when it comes to the Steelers. Maybe I'm still upset about the loss to the Jags. Who knows, but I'm just irritated mostly by the amount of distractions we had last season and the continuation of the selfish attitude of some players on this team.
We all got mad at Mitchell for giving up a first down and getting up after the tackle and talking s***. Isn't Cam kinda doing the same thing in a way?

I never thought ne's defense was good and bill purposely sat malcolm butler who would have made some difference. They just outsmarted and outcoached everyone else in the AFC plus this was abad year for the nfl as a whole way too many injuries to elite players that changed the season. And philly defense honestly didnt play bad. When you are playing a offense that has a top ten player of all time in Brady and a guy who'd the most dominant te in the game and maybe the most dominant player that's not a QB in the game on offense you are bound to score some points. They stopped ne on 6 of their 11 possessions. That's good defense and they made A play to seal the game. Pittsburgh def made ZERO PLAYS vs jax and jax had more scoring drives than they did punts...

Shift focus to the only side of the D that was producing and don't sweat the other as they gave no one anything to sweat. Pretty simple strategy. Especially when no one showed up on that side of the ball save for a stop or 2 when the O went hot to cold to hot again. Wasn't their day period. They collectively showed little to no interest until it was too late and it was too little to boot.

Jags kicked their asses and the score does not reflect it.

This team refuses to give anybody a blow and it drives me nuts. I mean, I get it in the sense that they are paid to play 60 minutes and such. Hell, it's even been their mantra just as much as the other 31 teams. However you got to appreciate rotations and giving other folks some reps if for no other reason than experience/preservation/keeping some guys flipping fresh!

Damn it's like Thibodeau running the Bulls into the ground around here every year hahahahahaha

Cam is good. I like Cam. Maybe Cam is trying to make his D-line mates feel better by blowing smoke up their butts. That's fine. But after the season those guys just had (excluding Cam overall) he sounds silly saying that he'd take our D-line over essentially any line in football. I'm sorry but Hargraves went from being someone we were all excited about to getting pushed around game after game. Tuitt did not live up to expectations. Maybe it was due to injury. Gosh, I hope it was due to injury. Alualu is a backup. These guys aren't the Steel Curtain and they're not going to make anybody forget Smith-Hampton-Keisel. My point is that Heyward and his line mates need to shut up, buckle their chin straps and go out and redeem themselves this season. Talk is cheap and I'm in no mood to hear about how great a D-line we have when these guys got beaten like a rented mule a good part of the season and especially that playoff debacle. Doesn't make me less of a fan to feel that way.

What I'd like to hear Heyward say is this:

"We had a very disappointing season overall and it was capped off by an anemic performance in the playoffs. We all failed in that game and it started with me. That makes for a long off season. I was disappointed in my performance and in the performance of our D-line as a unit. We've got to get better. I've got to get better. We WILL get better!!!""

I know that's too many characters for twitter, but still...lol.

Yeah imo I think your looking at it wrong and like you say your usually one of the more positive people here which really takes me back some. On that day were you on the sidelines did you hear anyone say leadership was lacking? How can you say Cam didn't show leadership, leadership is more about winning and losing in team sports. You can be a leader and end up on the losing end, no?

As for the difference of Mitchell and Cam well I guess if you don't think there is one than that is fine. What Cam is doing here is trying to get ready for an up coming season and trying to be a leader by picking up his teammates......Mitchell never did that he thought if you made a stop 10-20-30 yards down the field you need to celebrate and trash talk your opponent. jmo

So I had to go back and look at that tweet again with all the negative feed back it generated. Looked at it for 10 minutes tryig to see what was so terrible.

Got nothing. Team leader pumping up his mates and predicting big things in 2018.

    Tragic! Cut him!!!

    Get a grip guys.

    Cut him? Who said that???

Fine, he can pump up his mates if he wants to. Our DL performance last season was sub-par. And the DL performance in the playoff game was historically sub-par. You can't blame some fans for still being a little sensitive about it. Cam's a great player but I'll say it again, talk is cheap.

Ok so you are missing the point of his post. He did not say how great they were and he did not talk about the past. He is talking about next season he mentions 2018, unlike many here he is putting to rest last season and getting ready for next year. IMO he is trying to pump up the rest of his teammates. He has no control over who is playing next to him and he is trying to make the best of it and I like his optimism. :smiley1:

How do you know what Tomlin told Harrison about playing time? Things change during the course of the season , just because things don't go your way you don't quit on your team like Harrison. FYI playing time is also decided by position coach and DC, Porter and Butler.
