You know, kind of like AB did when he wanted a new contract. There were rumors of a holdout, but he was an honorable man and showed up for camp, and STFU on social media....and got paid.

Ordinarily you'd be right. But when a guy as you've stated has repeatedly "moved the goalposts" and those goalposts are not only out of the stadium but across the street, he's being an *******. What if Ben Roethlisberger said that he'll sign an extension but since Kirk Cousins is getting $28M/yr, he wants $38M/yr, then when the Steelers offer him 35, he says 'now I want 42?' Then he would be an *******, that's what.

The rap giant, villain, whatever had a chance to sign a contract that would have made him the highest paid running back (I say that because THATS what he is) in the league last season. His Mom wanted him to take the deal. So now he wants receiver money. Well, change positions! The Pittsburgh Steelers are not, I repeat not going to pay him 17 mill. And don't be surprised if a running back is taken in the first 2 picks. Then the Steelers can either pull the tag or seek a trade. Let see who will pony up 17 mill for a running back with a injury history and substance abuse suspensions.

The Steelers have been more then fair to Bell. Let him go.

They can't do anything with until he signs the tender. He won't sign the tender because then he has to show up.they can potentially work a deal in theory like the Alex Smith trade but they still need him to sign to complete the process. So the next big date is the draft. If they don't get a top five pick plus a mid and late rounder before then it won't make any difference after the fact.

Pay him like a 4.0 yd. per carry RB and a 7.7 yd. per catch WR. That's what he did last year. He should be very happy at 14.5 mil..

Draft a RB in the second round. Let him go. Do we get a comp for him?

He was a second round draft pick. At best we would get that. I think his value for one year of playing is worth that to keep him?

They could have done that this time with the non exclusive tag, he could get injured this year or fail another drug test with 6 months free time on his hands, they blew it with the exclusive tag and it isn't going to turn out well this time around.........

The highest you can get is a 3rd, regardless of where you were drafted...Here is my idea...The Steelers call Leveon in, and are brutally honest...They say" We are so far away, If you sign this tender, we promise to trade ypu "...Work out a deal, Even if it's a 3rd round pick...Question for everybody though...

Lets say this senerio happens...And we trade him for a 3rd...We would get another 3rd next year as a compensatory pick...Or just the one we got in the trade

You lost me at the highest they could get is a 3rd. For compensatory picks yes, for trades he is worth however much teams will pay or the Steelers value him at

The ONLY way that I think Bell is worth that is if Ben would have retired at the end of the year. If Ben would have hung it up and they would've replaced him with a draft pick and/or second tier QB like a Case Keenum, then you pay Bell his $15M+ that he wants.

It is not a matter of want to pay LB, it's a matter of can't. You can't pay 3 players in a hard cap league, QB money and near QB money for 2 without drastically killing any chance at being able to field a balanced team. It has nothing to do with respect or need. It's common sense. I am sure if the Steelers didn't have to work with a hard cap, this deal would have happened. But that's not what's going on. So, at this point, let LB play out next year, win the Super Bowl and then let him test free agency and see if he can get his 17 million.

You sound like a true company man! One question, why do you watch a sport with so many over paid selfish children? Just wondering your interest.

Listen everyone---------- Bell is going nowhere. He has no choice but to play and play good. He is gonna have his best year ever and then some loser organization is gonna give him a ridiculous contract where at best in 2 or 3 years he's gonna be a 3rd down back cause his knees are shot. Then we could use that money to sign a stud back and a good defensive player. Or we draft a stud back next year. Listen, colbert knows what he is doing. I truly believe we would have won the sbl if shazier does not get hurt. Colbert knows what he is doing..................

I'm not sure how anyone can justify paying Bell 17M per year.

I’m having a hard time justifying paying even the vet minimum to any player who isn’t also curing cancer.

I'm frankly shocked that LB hasn't been suspended for a whole year yet.

I mean, he's CLEARLY smoking something. He isn't worth 17 Million even in a vacuum. But under a salary cap? GTFO of here. 14 million a year was an EXTREMELY generous offer, and any rational and sane person would have jumped on it.

I'm done with him. Let him go find that money elsewhere. Hope he can play baseball.
