Or because they have a bunch of top guys on rookie contracts, which comes from them picking so high every year something we never have to worry about.

I guess we will see how good they do after 2018 when their QB cap hit goes from 10m to 21m and they have the same problems teams with franchise QB's have. The difference will be Bortles won't be able to carry them like a real franchise QB does and when all these players like Fournette, Jack, Fowler, Ramsey etc are off their rookie contracts and are looking for big money and the Jagoffs won't have it and they lose these guys in a year or two..........:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

anyone remember who it was that was wetting himself about how good the Raiders were last season just from the moves they made and how they would crush the entire league not just the conference.

Seriously? You really don't remember writing the below quote ?

And you have a funny definition of being destroyed, lost by 3 points in the playoff game.

The fact is, Steelers operate like this every year and every year some fans have a conniption over it and yet somehow the Steelers manage to stay among the best teams in the league year in and year out. Those big dummies!

There is an article on NFL.com about how quickly the window closes using the Cardinals as an example. The two teams the cited as being consistently near the top.. Pats and Steelers .

Or maybe teams are realizing this is a new era in the nfl where just trying to strictly build through the draft doesn't work anymore. Green bay followed the same moto we did and look what they are doing now? Signing people left and right to get help for Rodgers.

Its the reality. We are in the worst cap shape in the NFL. So be it. They agreed to pay 14.55 million guaranteed to a running back. So with those chips all in, it's Super Bowl or bust. I'm sorry, what else can it be? Bell won't be here next year. Fail if they don't win it all.

Personally I don't care about other teams movements. I care what the Steeler do. And they have Made the decision to throw all the chips into the middle of the table and bet on the Offense. And piece together a defense. Hopefully the additions of position coaches can get better production from the D line and secondary. They missed the mark on replacing the OLB coach.

The team you see is the team you get, sans a few draft picks that hopefully will contribute right away.

    I'm a realist.

Yup. Winningest franchise in the NFL since 1990 and only looking up at NE since 2000. Believe it or not, Steelers actually have some smart people in charge.

Says who? They actually have to fail and have losing seasons before you can make that claim.

Theres nothing new here, every year teams throw gobs of money at other teams players to no avail, many never living up to those big contracts.

Ok, this is idiotic. You are suggesting a 13-3 team should quit what works and start doing what a 7-9 team is doing.

You're even more idiotic for calling green bay a 7-9 team when the only reason their record was that was because Rodgers got hurt. He alone puts any team at least in the playoffs.

There's only 1 winner at the end of each season. Every other team this year not named Philly failed. You can praise coming in 2nd but I don't.

And back to your original point. What did NE do last off-season after they just came off winning a SUPERBOWL? Even this offseason they have made more moves than us.

And that's just facts. If that's the case then Leveon should be getting whateve he wants and no one here should be comparing he's alo least had us having good regular season records and that' all that matters according to you.

No, not facts, just your unrealistic high standards but the Rooneys run a business and have a better understanding of what that means then you do.

They need to put fans in the seats, to do that they need to put a competitive team on the field, something they have done successfully more than any team in the last 28 years. In the last 17 years, have been in more SB's then anyone not named NE and only second in wins to that same team.

Their strategy to build a team works just fine. More so than the teams that flush money down the toilet.

Really? Going to use an outlier to make your point? The team with the best coach and QB?

    Ok.

The Jaguars spent more money in FA than any other team, I'm not impressed none of those guys are difference makers. That so called great Jags defense got lit up by a one leg AB and the Steelers offense, if the Steelers can improve their run defense I like their chances.

28 years ago players didn't moive around in free agency like they do now. Players weren't holding out and asking for absolute top dollar. Their also was no salary cap as well so teams kept everyone and there was a such thing as loyalty to your franchise. That isn't the nfl of today.

Who the hell said that? I knew they would fold with that trash defense. All they had was Mack their secondary was worse than ours.

Totally agree as we are in cap shape hell! Just average players this free agency are getting contracts way above what we can shell out! It is what it is! Hopefully we have an outstanding draft this year and get some picks to contribute like T.J. did this year!We know what we have on the offensive side of the ball and will be more consistent hopefully! Hopefully the changes we made with the defensive coaches will bring us up a few notches as we don’t have to be great but just improved. We won’t win 13 again but will be playoff bound and have the capability with our offense to out score anyone.Just need improvement ( not asking for greatness) on the defensive side.
