They have like 7.7 million after the cuts per SteelersDepot.

Okay, so that means we can still clear another $3m by cutting Alualu if we have to and if we want to get S Mathieu then there is no need to keep S Wilcox so cutting him saves $3m.

    That's $7.7m, $3m, and $3m, that should be enough.

I've been trying to find confirmation that Tyrann Mathieu is visiting the Steelers tomorrow, can't find anything and we're not listed on the teams likely to sign him on Ian Rappoport's twitter but that's not really surprising.

If it's true that Mathieu has been invited to visit the team then the team must know that it can make a reasonable offer.

Only since 1973, but you never know, I was surprised when they went and signed Hayden.

Cutting Alalu would be stupid he's their best backup DL, also a capable starter if needed. I think Wilcox salary is guaranteed as of today with him still being on the roster, I don't get the Steelers thinking on him not worth 3 million.

If it comes down to Mathieu or Alualu, we cut Alualu. The best backup is still a backup, Mathieu would start in a position of need.

If we have Bryant, Bell, and Honey Badger on this team, I’m buying up all the mozzarella sticks and Cool Ranch Doritos in Pittsburgh before these stoners beat me to it.

Does that include the tender given to Boswell and Chickillo?

A safety who had two torn ACLs and I think shoulder surgery, not that interested he will command too much money he's out of the Steelers price range.

It's a risk. There's risk in any free agent signing or draft pick. There's also risk if you do nothing. If we do land him it's going to cost us and if he then gets hurt we won't have any cap room to sign anyone else. I'm just saying he's not necessarily out of our price range, it's possible.

I just think there will be plenty of teams bidding for him with way more cap space than us.

Yeah how unfortunate, why would we want to pay a guy that accounted for 30% of our offense.......

Comment on another Steelers site, which shall not be named, says Mathieu is signing with Denver if he passes a physical. Haven't found that info anywhere else.

Mathieu has never played a full season.... we don't need that type of unreliability on the team..... your best ability is availability

The best player is an available player, I am afraid the Honey badger can't hold up to grind of NFL.

I would do many horrible things to get Mathieu on this team. I know he's an injury-prone guy, but dude is legit so good. He immediately increases our Super Bowl chances a lot.

This! Face it Steeler friends, the team you see is the team you get. They have to make a major impact in the draft. Major! Hope the gamble paying Bell works out to a Super Bowl Championship because if not, it's going to be a major fail...
