I read this last night as well and love it. I have wondered all season what happened to him and why he wasn't plating as much. I really think he would be a great fit here and if he were to come cheap a pretty nice addition.

If they were to sign Austen, does that signal the end of DHB here?

I remember Ike was pimping him big time the year he was coming out. I would love to give him another shot here. He could help in a lot of ways.....

Nope but he is pretty fast and is a returner, just cause we have needs on one side of the ball don't mean we forget about the other........

I know DHB is good on ST but it seams to me there are a lot of players coming out iin the draft every year that play ST. If we were to sign Austin I would have to think DHB may be cut.

No thanks. All talk and hype never produced in NFL. He would have to be cheap

just to relieve ab of punt return duties because he sure isn't a receiver.

He had a lousy year in 2017, 9 starts 13 receptions for 47 yards 3.6 average he didnt have any TDs, was he in their dog house or was he not being used on purpose, need to find out what his problem was before showing to much interest, he still has years left on his present contract, i'm not interested in him I thought they over paid him on his contract and obviously the rams think so too................

If he’d sign a cost effective deal I’d be okay with it. Maybe AB’s work ethic would rub off on him.

I agree and while I am in favor of Austin it would have to be a cost effective deal, MB is making 700k and offers a ton of upside hard to compete with that.

Foles had Doug Pederson who may now be the best coach in the nfl. I think he can almost make anyone look good. We have tomlin lol.. And keenum froze when it counted most. It's why minny is getting Kirk cousins

Austin is a decent punt returner (when he holds onto the ball) and can produce out of the backfield, and not just on reverses or out of wildcat. He's a versatile player, but maybe not a weapon.

You guys remember Austin from college. I remember him as a St. Louis Ram. He was a bust in St. Louis. He's a bust in LA. He would be a bust in Pittsburgh. He's a poor man's Eli Rogers.

Doesn't he have an issue holding on to the ball on punt returns? They do need to find a punt returner, but I don't trust Austin even in that role.

If he was released, then signed for the vet minimum I would take him for special teams value.

Yes, he does. I'd rather have a guy who can hold onto the ball chose to fair catch it every time then a guy who can get yards, but fumbles a lot.

I doubt he's thinking vet minimum, he wants to get paid. Someone will pay him more than the Steelers can offer, more than likely.

No, no, no, no. He never lived up to hype and never will, waste of time.
