trade bell and Martavis to the browns for the 4th pick if Barkley is still on board. I understand bell will cost a lot more than Barkley, hence why we throw in martavis .... hell I’d even add in a 2019 3rd or possibly more........ pay bell 15 million a year for 5 years or pay Barkley 7 million a year for 5 years.... lots of cap space to fill other holes

They exc tagged bell, they cant trade him, he belongs to them for a year even if they dropped the tag he would just become a FA and they couldnt trade him then either, so leave bell out of any trade talk because it cant happen now or ever unless they sign him to a long term contract and decide later on to look for a trade.......

Can't they trade him once he signs the tag?

I like the way you think, but I think you’d need Cleveland’s #1 pick to get Barkley.

If Browns don’t take him at 1, Giants probably will at 2.

Well if we can’t trade bell then this is a pointless convo...I’m not sure of the rules.... but If we can trade him I think the browns would consider this. 1 they have the cap space. 2 bell is the best in the nfl: and 3 the Browns are terrified of missing on another first rounder. Bell and Martavis are two huge weapons that help them immediately....... esp if they sign mccarron.

Why would Cleveland trade for two players on 1 yr deals?

Because they have over 100 million in cap space and can give the guys the deals they want.... they owe it to the fans to bring in two superstars and they know it

Pittsburgh wouldn't trade some of their best offensive talent to a division rival.

The Question wasn't whether or not Pittsburgh would do it. It was whether the Browns would. And we've made a couple recent trades with the Browns. albeit not for our top talent.

I think your wrong players on the Exclusive tag can not negotiate with other teams but if they sign the tender they can be traded.

Bell can't be traded right now anyway, it's a moot point .

Your right, I looked it up and the team can trade him after he signs the tender, see, I can admit when i'm wrong:

The exclusive tag means that player cannot negotiate with any other teams once the team applies it. The team owns that player’s rights as if they were under any contract so the team can trade them or resend the tag, but the player is stuck. The only choice the player has is whether to sign the contract or not. If they don’t sign it then they must sit out the entire season as they can’t negotiate with other teams until the start of the next football year.

No you was fine, I should have researched more thoroughly before being so sure of myself, at any rate bell isnt going to sign his deal until the season starts so he wont be involved any off season trade pre draft or free agency as I see it now, they have 4 months to get a contract done with bell, so they wont have any excuse to prevent them from getting it done.......

You can't give up playmakers like that within your own division.

    Plus Barkley is going #1.

I think there is a date in June that is the deadline to sign a deal for a player tagged but I am not sure and to lazy to look it up, lol. I am not sure how I feel about a long term deal now, I am almost ready to move on but I think it will all depend on who they draft at RB this year. jmo

If Bell doesn't get a longterm deal he's not signing that franchise tender until right before the season starts.
