Looks like Darius Leonard weight in at 234 which is good, but the 4.70, not so much.

Vander Esch runs a 4.66 at 256 lbs, he's only a one year starter

Some talking heads said Josh Sweat and Lorenzo Carter might be better pro's than they were college players.

Fred Warner is a guy to keep a eye on, he was used in coverage and had 7 career ints.

So sold on Josh Sweat but sadly cannot nab him. He is a 4-3 end only; Danielle Hunter essentially from 2015. I believe though that Sweat has a greater ceiling than Hunter did.

As far as 3-4 Outside Linebackers, Lorenzo Carter for me. Issue is, his production does not warrant a First Round pick.

Lorenzo Carter? That would be 50/50 for me.

    Josh Sweat? Oh most definitley.

    Defensive backs tomorrow. Cannot wait.

Both Justin Reid and DeShon Elliot need to have themselves a day. Otherwise, that will hurt their draft stock severely. Same goes for Josh Jackson. Denzel Ward is right behind him in terms of draft stock.

Derwin James will do "Avatar" level feats. Wondering about Minkah though. Really belive he is a corner than anything else.

When I mentioned Carter I wasn't talking about him as a first round pick.

    :hmm:

I believe you might have misunderstood me. My post was not in direct correlation towards your post.

The point of emphasis of my post was that Lorenzo is worth acquiring but not at the cost of a First Round pick. More than likely, he is early Round Two.

You don't think Sweat can be a 3/4 OLB? He's built like one and has the athleticism for the position.

For me? No. Rather, at least not for us he cannot be.

If he is drafted by us, he will have to be slowly integrated in. Keep in mind that Josh Sweat was mainly asked to rush the passer at Florida State. Any coverage responsibilities he had were very few and far between.

Given the limited time we have with Big Ben, I would say nab someone who has been in a 3-4 OLB scheme but also has experience dropping in coverage; quite hard given the fact that only Carter has and is quite the fit for the team but will not last that long in Round Two.

Surprised he came in so big. That is huge for a ILB by today's NFL standard......wonder if OLB is in his future...could be Tomlins new "elephant " in the room :smiley1:

As much as I love Evans, it's more realistic that LVE is available at #28.

I had Vander Esch as a 2nd round pick. The combine numbers are way better than I expected except for the 40. I thought he would be around 4.70, but not at 256 lbs, that is what is impressive.

Oregon was obviously his best game. Bowl game when it counted most. He made alot of big plays.

Just watched the Wyoming tape and not so good. He made a couple of nice goal line stuffs but wasnt good in coverage, missed a sack and got juked out of his jock by Josh Allen.

Colbert will be working overtime on this kid.

I think he can, but teams will definitely figure out how to attack him in the NFL.

I don't know if he can effectively jam a receiver or TE with one hand, so I'd guess they'd try to have him not be in that position.

He can play coverage though, I think the tape shows that.

If he gets many INTs they will always be highlight reel types. Can only guess what his grip is like,

LVE looks to be the pick. We're seeing the team start to draft guys that are not multiple year starters. TJ being a recent example.

Justin Reid ran a 4.44 wow
The Steelers might have to double dip at the safety position in this draft, Jessie Bates ran a 4.5.

    Uh

Good. I hope he doesn't. I go through this every year it seems like with these can't miss bama LBers. I don't think Evans is all that.
