I have seen different projections to the Steelers getting a 5th rd pick for losing Timmons, or not getting any picks . This is the year it would've been nice to get a 3rd pick since we don't have a 4th rd in this draft.

No way Timmons gets us a 3rd

5th and that is it I am afraid.

Not much higher; all the more reason this draft has to be a resounding success.

We traded away a pick for Vance so at least we get one back? Did we trade for Wilcox too?

It would be a joke if we got just a 5th for timmons.

Yep. Imagine how different this season could have been if we had retained Timmons.

    Steelers

Projected compensatory picks: One -- Round 5
Key free-agent losses: Lawrence Timmons (Dolphins)
    Key free-agent additions: None
Skinny: The Steelers are in line to potentially receive a fifth-round pick for Timmons.

I thought we got a 7th for cockrell too. Maybe these new coaching additions can help with these later round guys.

If I read it right this morning there is a cap on the number of comp picks given out, I do believe they only allow 32 but don't quote me on that and I can't look it up right now. So maybe we were suppose to get one but there are others ahead of us, idk.

I didn’t watch very much of his play this year. Just some reviews...

Man a year ago this wasn't the feeling around here. Timmons was this years Mitchell and rightfully so his speed or should I say lack of it was a major factor in the Pat's game last year. If I remember right just about everyone tore him up, maybe I am wrong but I am to lazy to look up the thread from last year.

Run stopper and was the one who brought physicality to the defense. I said it then and I'm saying it now ... stop sending the old guys out in coverage and have them control the line of scrimmage and rush the qb. Miami overpaid him ... but, monday night against tge pats ... they got their money's worth

Yes he was still at the top of his game when it came to stopping the run that was never in question. The fact that we use our LB's for pass coverage was where the problem was and he couldn't do it anymore......kinda like Mitchell now! :smiley1:
