Yeah, that's why I thought Kevin Green would have been nice to have for the OLB's.

You can't argue what Joey did with the LB's on the college level, but I'm not seeing any improvement in pass rush moves over the years with these guys.

Good luck to carnell. He was a classy person and a great player. I got to meet and talk to him a few times. I wish him well and I think he will continue in a coaching career at some point.

Like said, great player, not a great coach. Wish him the best getting on with his life's work. That was not coaching...hopefully Porters time is coming.

Yeah just like Arians was retired, the Steelers probably wanted Lake's exit to be classy it was time for him to get on with his life's work.

What about former Steelers DB coach Ray Horton? He did a good job as Arizona DC also, his defenses were aggressive he could also be Butler's replacement .

I wouldn’t be surprised if Heinz is asked to do it. He knows the system and how to defend routes. And he could definitely show them how to lay some wood!!

i agree. he hasn't been very successful anywhere he's been. Dom Capers on the other hand has been pretty good as a DC. not sure he would want to take the step back but munch did.

Would rather have Capers as DC.

One of my favorite players from that era. A true ball hawk.

Capers D was pretty lousy last season. All three coaches running variations of the zone-blitz D got smoked in the playoffs. I would rather have a young coach with fresh ideas.

There wasnt a defense that didnt get smoked at one point or another last season. Capers is a very good defensive coordinator.

Talent is still the most important factor.

Well, we need someone who can spot the right talent to put back there in the first place.
When you bring a supposedly washed up player into the field and he instantly is your best you know you're not dialed in.

As far a Woodson goes I would love it, I hate seeing guys like Greene coach other places.

He was most definitely a ball hawk. That's why it always surprised me that our DBs don't seem to know what to do when the ball is in the air. Mike Mitchell seems oblivious to the ball at times, always going for the Sportscenter hit. At any rate, I wish Lake well but I never got the impression that his heart was in coaching. Just a hunch.
