Coach Tomlin has hired the son of former WVU head coach Bill Stewart to the coaching staff. For those who don't know Bill Stewart gave Mike Tomlin his first coaching gig of his career. The Stewart's have meant a lot to Tomlin over the years and now he's really returning the favor!

Like a lot of you, I got on Tomlin a lot after the loss to the Jags but one thing I can say about him is that he is a solid dude. We can get frustrated at times but we're lucky to have him.

It's a meaningless, feel-good story and there's no football for 7 months. Work with me here!

Reports are he'll be working with the offense. He's stated in the past that he wants coaching to be in his future. I wouldn't be surprised if he has his sights set on an offensive coordinators position (in all likelihood 7-10 years out). He played wide receiver at JMU so I'd expect he'd be working the same unit with the Steelers.

Also worth mentioning is that he just finished up his MBA so I wouldn't rule out a potential landing spot in an NFL front office.

It may be too early to tell what direction he's headed in but the kid looks like he has a promising future in the league!

Can't this new guy manage a clock??? Maybe the Rooneys can equip him with a Casio wristwatch and a calculator and make him stand next to Tomlin at the end of games.

Well it seems he DOES have the power to hire which means that he can probably fire guys too. Mike is a good person, just not that good of a HC in my opinion.

Oh, look, more of the problem. Hiring friends instead of qualified coaches.

Amazing responses to this story. Its tyical in my opinion if society today. This is a true life story about relationships and following your dreams . Being given a chance.

But everyone is actually gonna bash this? The fact he is giving this kid the same chance he got tells me how grounded he his. Its not all about wins and losses guys. Its a job yes. You have to perform to keep it.

Keep in mind not alot of people arent able to stay at the nfl level their whole career. Players are done before life really begins for them and that goes for some coaches too. Tomlin gets it. Its about the journey and relationship u make.

How you can watch that video and have anything negative to say is unbelievable to me.

Agree. No matter what concerns you have about Coach Tomlin and whether or not he's going to be able to get us over the hump to another Super Bowl, this is a GREAT human interest story. And it makes me root even more that Tomlin will be able to get this team back to the big game and hoisting the Lombardi trophy. Still have some legitimate concerns, but when I look at some of the yahoos who are hired to run NFL teams every off-season, makes me think we ought to just roll for a while longer with Tomlin. I do wish he'd make some changes to the defensive coaching staff though.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Flavor Flav special....something Tomlin can't miss and Ben can see from the field....
