Are really struggling, coach will get them straightened out. Thank goodness they have him.

Pens won a close one last night in overtime. They are starting to show signs of life but still have a ways to go. The 5 day break might help them. Crosby is starting to light it up.

Looks like the Pens are starting to make a run at the three-peat.

There, temporarily fixed it for ya Fan - one step at a time. Icing on the cake beyond that the way the season has gone. But now that the other local playoff team performed an embarrassing belly flop, might as well hold high hopes for the Pens - Buccos and Panthers certainly aren't going anywhere.

I happened to look at the stats for the season so far and guess which goalie is leading the league in at least one category? Fleury. Man the expansion draft killed us.

Agreed but our problem still also seems to be a lack of goal scoring in some games with all the top players we have on our team. It's still not too late if they can get it in gear and play to their potential.

Wild how they went from 7th place to 2nd place with back to back W's. Need some separation from teams behind them to secure high division standing. Caps are easily in their grasp now. Not sure if the All Star break is a good or bad thing with them on an apparent roll right now.

They just need to get to the playoffs regardless of the positioning IMO. If they are playing their hockey there isn't anyone that can beat them.

Great game last night 5-2 over the Sharks.
Murray looked strong in goal so we should have two dependable goalies just like last year.
Pens have made progress and are now nearer the top of the standings.
I would think the other teams are looking over their shoulder and thinking here we go again.
The Pens super stars are playing like super stars.
The three peat is right there for the taking.

You know the Caps are soiling their BVD's right now watching their lead slip and The March of The Penguins again taking shape. You have admirable prophetic qualities Fan - thanks for keeping us Chicken Littles in line all season. :thumbs up:

Couple of big games coming up for the Pens this weekend.
Caps on Friday and Devils on Saturday.
We will see how our two goalies do on back to backs.

2-1 Pens at the end of the 1st period.
3-3 At the end of the 2nd period.

Even game so far. Time for the Pens to step it up.

The Pens stepped it up big time and won 7-4. They are regaining the magic that they had the last two years. I think it will be hard to stop the three-peat. Big game tomorrow against the Devils.

They are getting healthy at the right time, Malkin is going beast mode at the right now, Kessel is heating up. If they can some how tweak the defense just a tad this stretch run will be amazing. Going to be interesting to see if Rutherford stays pat at the trade deadline because of cap issues or moves a quality role player to get that missing piece.

I have come to the conclusion, Rutherford is pretty awesome also.He isn't afraid to pull the trigger. It helps when
you have a competent coach that takes no bull****.

Pens need to pick themselves up off the floor after the last game and get back to playing serious hockey.

3 very tough games in a row - at least it's at PPG. Welcome home Flower! Wish you well tonight (but only for first 30 seconds and then it's gloves off.) Time to make up some ground tonight with Caps and Devils both on the road. Bonus, get to watch LV Knight games without blackout restrictions on their local cable sports channel - can't justify the $$ for the DTV NHL package on top of MLB and NFL although the Pens are a far better bet than another dismal Buccos season that should rank right up there with Pitt FB and BB.

Wow - totally wild game tonight - a lot like Sunday's SB - plenty of O and very shaky D. Glad they hung on and leaped the Devils again. Two tough road games coming up at Dallas and at St Louis. Pens don't seem to do well in Dallas. But LV was 22-1 when they score first before tonight - so much for stats.

You're right Fan - they often look like they're sleepwalking but have to say that 2nd Period and about halfway through 3rd period against LV were vintage Pens reminiscent of many of the great playoff games the last two years. Obviously impossible to keep up that pace for 3 periods but it's a real thing of beauty when they dominate like that. And more often than not Phil Kessel is right in the middle of that hyper-active O. :thumbs up:
