Is it the player or is it the coaches or the organization? Blount bad here good in NE and Philly, Jeffery had some problem in Chicago but is good in Philly. I am not sure what to think right now.......

Culture is a byproduct of qualities that can contradict themselves but all correlate towards a unifying goal.

Camaraderie, focus, dedication and discipline are all essential towards obtaining the ultimate goal in professional sports. No team can have unlimited amounts of one without losing something else.

The former three is not the issue with the Steelers. The latter portion however, is a big issue; previously a concern for me in some aspects. That aspect alone befalls on everyone; coaches and players alike.

To beat the likes of New England and Jacksonville, a common goal is needed; one that which lies beyond just getting to the Super Bowl. Once that is discovered, the term "team" can be fully understood and realized.

It's like running a tight ship, if the Captain demands from his crew nothing but their best then they will respond to his leadership, if he is laid back and lax his crew will take on his example, it's like football players look for leadership from the top and if it's not there they do as little as they have too....

I can’t help thinking that, had we made the Super Bowl, there would be a story about locker rooms united around adversity, Shazier and Wentz.

The point of the article is to create a narrative that shows the two teams in the super bowl as worthy and distinct from the rest. It’s pointing to things that meant it was almost inevitable both teams would make it.

But that’s not the case at all. We know that the Pats were a few dubious calls away from a worse record, for example.

So while I’m not disputing the idea that the locker room could be more focused here, we have to bear in mind the angle the story is taking.

Sometimes it's the players knowing that their actions have lead them to the point where they know it's one of their last chances. On the other hand like up in ne they know their BS won't be tolerated and nothing but winning and doing whatever it takes to win are mandatory. " The standard is the standard "goes both ways...right now it seems our standards are set low.

He probably was told he would actually play and they gave him that confidence that he would play a part. Same thing with Harrison. Yes the way that Blount left was disrespectful, but, if your sold on a bill of goods and it turns out to be fools gold then what do you expect? A few more snaps for Harrison and he probably wouldn't have been so distraught. And really could it have hurt so much to spell Dupree?

Except according to the article, he didnt play a snap in the KC game much like the game that Bell was playing lights out in (Titans maybe?) when Blount walked out on the team.

I dont think the Blount situation was the same as JH, I think Blount knew his roll.

Hm? I fail to see the humor in this.

    Care to elaborate?
