and the secondary will be improved greatly.

He might be heading down the Kaepernick path and have trouble finding suitors.

If Rooneys/Tomlin could get him to agree not to kneel during the anthem anymore, his price may not be that high due to lack of interest.

That would be a huge signing for this team.

    I don't hate the idea.

He does have a history of concussions, and somewhat inconsistent results on the field. But then, I was reading somewhere he's had four different HCs since being at San Fran. Maybe a bit of stability settles him down?

Not a great coverage guy more of a hitter. I'd pass. We need a earl Thomas or honey badger type of guy.

Blast,he is a Strong Safety. Would you be proposing moving Davis to Free? Reid is signed this season scheduled to make 5.6 in which is not much for a team that has a boat load of cap space. I don't know if they would entertain making Davis a Free Safety.

The whole kneeling thing please. I understand it, was overblown by a tool who was shunned by the NFL. I don't want to get real political but, the real jack@sses are our wonderful government who casts aside war veterans. I feel those who fight and risk their lives for this country should be taken care of by the government period.Plenty of money to throw around and being thrown around. Sorry shouldn't have gone there.

When it comes to wanting to improve the safety spot man I am all in, just not sure if I can bring myself to come around to him after the whole kneeling thing. If it happens so be it I would have to warm up to him, what is you opinion on Byrd and Boston @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace ? I like both a little worried about injury on Bryd.

Well he lost his job to Jaquiski Tartt, so Im not sure they will try to re-sign him plus the whole kneeling thing but yes, I would move Davis. Hes played there, cant do worse then Mitchel this year but Id also draft a FS. Reid is good in all areas and definitely in the box, hed help with the run when they are in the nickel. Another guy I like is Vaccaro but he went into the offseason on IR.

I sympathize with your political stance but yes, please not here :hi:

I dont worry about that, there are players who would kneel on the Steelers if given the green light, AB is one of them. I dont want to dredge that all up again though, I only meant if he agrees to stop his protest.

If going to take a chance on injured players, I prefer Vaccaro like I mentioned to CK and not crazy about Byrds age. Joyner had a good year, Id look at him. For CB's, they should look at Gaines and Colvin.

Is Reid's brother a Free Safety? He's a draftable prospect this year.

Well unfortunately I do and don't like it as for AB well if he did it I wouldn't like it either and my fandom would be at risk. Like you say no need to go through that all again. I like Byrd at "our" price and I would want to draft a guy and let him mentor him. I also like Boston, he was an under the radar guy and has showed ball skills. As far as Vaccaro goes he was my guy when he came out, I really wanted him. I have not watched a lot of him but it feels like every time I see him he is going for a big hit and I think if that is true we have seen enough of that I would rather see a ball hawk.

More than just a Free Safety.

Think of him as a more athletic Ha Ha Clinton Dix.

    Walterfootall's take:

1/22/18: Reid played really well for a lot of 2017, impressing NFL scouts. Sources who are tough graders said they think Reid has early-round potential for the 2018 NFL Draft. They say that Reid doesn't have Earl Thomas-like range as a free safety or Kam Chancellor-like size as a strong safety, but he does everything well. Reid is a good free or strong safety with the ability to run and tackle. They say that he is a polished, clean, good all-around safety similar to HaHa Clinton-Dix coming out of Alabama. Evaluators said that Reid didn't close out the season as well and had some rough tapes late in the year. That could end up pushing him to Day 2 in the 2018 NFL Draft.

    Nice, thanks NY!

Draft him to play free and maybe his brother signs here to play strong at a discount?

Wouldn't be opposed to looking at him in the draft... His brother can stay in the bay. He is not what I consider an upgrade and that has nothing to do with his personal crap I wouldn't want here either. I can tell you not too many 9ers fans like his play either.
