    Way to play strawman games.

Our defense was doing pretty well before shazier went down, but you can play that game if you want as well. A few years ago it’s the game has passed DL by its time for butler. Our young players have to play more. Y’all get what you want and then just change the target for your whining without giving it any thought. Young players make mistakes that’s part of it. You have to take the good with the bad. And how long has our offense been playing together? What about the defense?

Amazes me how some give a total pass to average, below average. Sometimes you need a shake up. Not a major house cleaning.

Personally the call for Lakes head is not recent. The development of Burns and Davis are often criticized. With good reason. And the statue Mitchell? What does Lake say to this waste?

As far as Porter goes the development of Bud Dupree is a glaring weakness. Won't receive the 5th year option and could be on the outs. Porter bragged about how Dupree and Jarvis Jones would dominate in 2016 and that Jones could have double digit sacks. We all know that Harrison had to take over. Development. TJ Watt came out of the gate with steam and then tailed off. Porters off the field nonsense.

This defense better figure out how to be consistent on stopping the run.

But hey, the defense gets a total pass using the loss of Shazier as the dismantling.

in fact i didn't like the fact that they did DL like that for butler. yes the younger players have to see the field and they have. they seem to stay at that same level though. sure mistakes happen but it shouldn't with the veteran players near as much as it does. improvement has to be shown as well from year to year. these young guys have been thrown into these situations and have practiced and played a lot of football for this team, not to mention they have been brought along from day one in this new hybrid system they are playing in and have just as much coaching in it as the vets but we still have communication problems. why do they digress?

They didn’t digress. This team improved in almost every single statistical category. We also added 6 new defensive starters over the course of the season. Why does Ben continue to hold onto the football?

So it seems coach Mitchell adjusted his players to the new schemes. Why can't Porter? With the athleticism that Dupree has, how many pass defenses did he have. One. Where is Dupree's development? I hardly saw any splash plays from Dupree this year other than him running through some wide open lanes on cross blitzes. He has done pretty good developing Chickillo so I'll give him that. Too early to tell his effect on Watt. I'm not a big fan of Porter and feel he should be gone like Jackattack as you have to add in the JH92 situation but that has been debated ad nausem.

As for Jarvis Jones, you said you can't stand arguments that start with "I believe", but yet you justify the Jones situation by saying you believe it was AR2's call.

Sooooo tired of the "new scheme Dupree" narrative ,like you said where are the splash plays...I don't have the numbers in front of me but let's say he dropped and rushed 50/50 or whatever. The bottom line is he looked horrible in almost all his rush attempts. No plan whatsoever,no counters whatsoever.....to me that's coaching. Say whatever you want but all out young guys took a step back this year.....coaching?

so you're saying "I hate to do this...but I"m going to for this example"?? I read it another way the first time. Definitely not the sharpest right now, 2 hrs sleep in a rest area and 18 hours in a car didn't help much.

Going back to Porter, I can see why he is not fired since he's relatively new to the coaching position so they may be giving him more time, but Lake should be on a very hot seat if not gone already imo.

he did go the sack specialist coach in the offseason too, so I'm thinking Dupree just cannot seem to put his training into use during games. He constantly gets run up the arc so Porter should be pointing that out in film sessions. 50/50 coach and player??

yea i guess you could include these part time or injury replacement guys in the mix. they were not year long starters thats for sure. every team has this because of injuries though. might as well include williams too since he's a new starter for this year. oh and alualu when tuitt was down and golden when mitchell was out and matakevich and fort and moats. of course finney, hubbard, mcdonald, smith shuester, bryant, jones, feiler, ridley, nix, hunter were on the offensive side of the ball too.

they dropped from the 21st ranked defense overall to the 28th ranked overall in 1 year. you are wrong in them improving in almost every category.
