Our offense was good in spite of Haley. If you think about it, every game was the same, slow start with predictable plays. Things didn’t open up until it turned into playground offense. That to me shows it was raw talent, not scheme, that made this offense successful.

Not surprising. I like Haley overall but came up short alot on key plays in the playoffs.

Any hood up and coming OCs?

    I don't want a re-tread.

Anyone think it will be somebody already on the staff?

Are we likely to go with a running guy or passing guy? With QB changes on the horizon, I would bet on a guy who can develop a QB.

Same for Scottie Montgomery, did not like him in the least.

I think this is a mistake... We just hung 42 points on great defense. One step away from AFC Championship.

Our defense is getting worse, even when Shazier was in there this year.

There is little evidence to make me believe Fichtner is above the line at calling plays in the NFL. College maybe, but not the pros.

If they could make one change I would like to see a more aggressive run blocking scheme to be implemented. Maybe Munch can spearhead that ... but as an offensive line coach.

Montgomery and Kirby just wanted to advance their careers, with Haley firmly in place as OC the writing was on the wall for them that that wasn't going to happen. I'm not buying his personality drove them away. This line didn't really turn into what it was until Munch got here. So I'm not sweatin why Kugler left.

Only way I think they turn this into a good move is if they bring Arians or Whisenhunt back.

I don’t think Haley has ever been accused of being a people person. Not even close. He’s rubbed more than a few people wrong.

And there’s no way Ben would ever want Whisenhunt back. They didn’t get along the first time around. This is the Ben show from here on out. They are gonna do whatever it takes to keep him happy because they know they are screwed without him.

Maybe the Ben Show is a mistake?

Ben is a gunslinger... old gunslingers with no one to reign them in will just hurt your team.

14 points were a result of fantastic plays by Ben, Bryant and AB. Also Jags took their foot off the pedal with a big lead.

6 games this season they scored less then 21 points and another game with only 23 points. Haley often came out of the gate with idiotic play calls as well as inside the 5 or killed drives with silly gadget plays.

If nothing else, they will be better just because they will employ more no huddle. Its ridiculous they ran it so little but Mr ego wanted to call all the plays and be the man.

    Good riddance.

Inconsistency - you have to blame it on someone.

I'm not undercutting Shazier's importance to this D at all, believe me - dude is mad talented. But the way some folks around here apologize and deflect for the D's performance of late, you'd think we were some monster, run-stuffing D prior to his injury. News flash, we couldn't stop the run with Shazier, either. Things need fixing on that side of the ball, and not just replacing Shazier.

I really don't think many people understand the massive adjustment period to losing Shazier. He did EVERYTHING for us and even with a contingency plan, we didn't have enough talent to cover up the issue.

He's not a savior, but I highly doubt we allow 45 to the Jags. They exploited his loss all day.

True. An awful lot of the big gains seemed to show the ILB at fault - whether it was VW, Fort or Spence.

I totally agree. The coordinator needing firing was Butler, not the OC with one of the top Os in the league. Kept Ben from getting hurt and was not bad, except in some situations, but that is also on Ben and Tomlin. If it were me I would've kept him and fired Porter, Lake, and maybe Butler.
