    Some thoughts.

    First of all, yes:
    1) Our Staff and players overlooked Jax. Even with the bye...
    2) Our D was never able to stop them. Giving up long runs in 2nd down, letting Bortles convert several 3rd downs... 45 points to the Jaguars? (ok, our D only gave up 38...).
    3) Our D wasn't able to create a turnover, sack or splash play. Not a single one.

-However, despite the D, here are 3 coaching reasons that cost us the game:
    4th and 1/2. Twice:
-A) You have an All pro HB, pro bowl Center, All pro RG, Pro Bowl LT. Right end sweep??? Really?
-B) Pro bowl HB. Pro bowl Center. All pro RG. All pro LT. Playaction middle crossing route at 15 yds??? Really?
    (Your QB weights 240 punds)

-C) You are losing 42-35, just scored with 2:18 and 2 timeouts. Your offense is clicking... why do you kick onside? Kick it to their endzone and get the ball back with 2:00 f you stop them after 3, but if you kick onside and fail, you're giving up the killing 3 pts (what really happened).
(also, why didn't Tomlin ask for his timeouts before the 2:00 warning?)

Also, was it me or some players were giving up in the last drive, before our TD? That could have saved some time...

Biggest blame goes to the D. Allowing 38 points to a lousy offense like Jacksonville is inexcusable. Even the Bills were able to hold them to 10 points. 5 for 5 TDs in the redzone. That is awful.

Defense is to blame IMO , they took the opening drive right down our throats and never looked back

They went for the onside kick because the defense couldn't stop the pitiful Jags offense. Watch the AFCCG, Jax will have a hard time scoring 10 again.

    Arrogance.

It is said God hates the sin of arrogance above all others, as evidenced by the creative ways he punishes it.

Well 4th and 1 and you try to outsmart yourself twice. Not going for field goal. Dump passes to bell were there. Holding the ball too long for the big play. Onside kick. The bye week. Ben trying to force the ball into coverage

coaches coach and players play. I have watched a lot of football in my life. played a lot and coached some. while some coaching decisions were beyond questionable, this defense didn't even come close to playing up to potential today. we wanted man coverage and we got it. problem is. we cant stop the run anymore. tuitt is hurt, or at least I pray he is. we just paid him and he was a ghost. Mitchell has got to go. we build this d around shazier and his absence was exploited today.

I hated the 4th and inches calls worse than the onside kick one. I was actually, one of the few apparently, in favor of it. I didn't have any faith in the d. and don't give me this we held them. play calling would have been different and you could never know.

the players didn't execute. its that simple. the game come down to 2 things. we couldn't stop them on 3rd down and 2 turnovers. bottom line. if you are gonna blame this loss on an onside kick, you don't understand football. take a deep breath and realize. we need 2 positions upgraded on d. safety and ilb. and need to switch from this 3-4 that all the offenses now know

Mike Tomlin made some head scratching calls. I love Mike Tomlin as a coach, but his coaching decisions at times is why Bill Belichick is a better coach on offense, defense, and special teams. The onside kick decision was bad. And the first 4th down play that Le'Veon Bell ran, and got stopped was also bad. The Steelers defense was trash in this game. Aside from a couple of 3rd down stops, the defense was bad. The rushing defense in the 1st half was horrible. And in the 4th quarter, Blake Bortles made the big plays. The defense needs to be fixed.

The blame lies at Tomlin's feet. Period. This team is soft and stupid just like him.

Jax were 5th in scoring I kept saying it. Still inexcusable to give up that much. Pats will tie us this year

Nobody to blame but themselves. Down 28-21 they get a blocked punt and all the momentum in the world. They have had their chances to even the score and the offense came up short twice.

Ben made up for it with 5TDs and a 6th that was a lateral. The defense did nothing for 60 minutes. No sacks, no turnovers and allowed 5 for 5 in the red one

Ben didn't allow 5 TDS in the red zone. Name the last team to win a game where their defense allowed 5 TD' in the redzone.

The Jags did us a favor. It won't be us next week that the Pats embarrass when they put 50 points on the board.
