He played 27 snaps or something to that yesterday. It wasn't all garbage time and in garbage time, wouldn't you expect no less from James or any of your players ? The Steelers screwed up allowing him to leave. Despite who said what, who did this or that James, could have been an asset to the team on rushing the quarterback situations.

For those who missed the game and are under the impression that Harrison's only contribution was a couple of "garbage time" sacks, let me squash that notion right now. Those 2 sacks were actually the least important and impressive things he did in that game.

Harrison was setting the edge very effectively, which is something NE's defense has needed. With Trey Flowers round into form after coming off injury, with the presence of Harrison, and with KVN coming back, this will be a much improved run defense going into the playoffs.

Harrison also dropped into coverage and was covering very well. Came up with a big tackle on 3rd down after dropping into coverage.

Harrison was getting pressure on the QB well before those 2 "garbage time" sacks.

He literally made every snap count. Now that there is film of him in a Patriots uniform performing well when setting the edge, when covering, and when rushing the passer, it'll be harder for opposing offenses to be able to tell with NE's defense will be doing, since they can't just assume he will be in there solely to rush the QB.

Most importantly, he showed he can still play and that he still has a high football IQ and general awareness.

Dang, wish I didn't read this thread. Had no idea he had 2 sacks...regardless of opponent.

BS. You didn't see what he could do; he was never on the field so you saw nothing. Pats put him on the field, bam, 2 sacks and a forced fumble.

Who cares. The coaches didn't want to play him and the reasons they didn't and whether or not he could still play are irrelevant.
The guy was insubordinate, was a distraction, acted like an ass and spoke out in the media.
    Inexcusable.

Ill give the snaps to Dupree and Watt....but Chickallo and Moats over James....not even in their dreams are they better than Old Man Deebo.

All it would have taken to keep him happy...was a hat and a dozen snaps a game. He is right...at his age he only has so many snaps left...and watching them with a swearshirt on week after week was not the way to spend them.

Good Luck James...against all but one team.

If he can help us or not, we gave the Patriots an asset on defense. I don't care how much he was pouting, if it was that bad just suspend him from the team. Don't put him on the open market.

Only playoff teams would have wanted his services... so obviously they knew the Patriots would pick him up.

yes. I did see. go back and look at his snaps if you want. he cant do what we ask our olb to do. if you still think that we should have kept him with all that has come out, you are insane. and please pump the brakes on his end of game performance against the jets. the jets

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard the 2 sacks came on the Jets FINAL drive..... garbage time. He had one tackle in the 1st half, most of his action was in the 2nd half of the Jets final game of 2017...... garbage time...... against Bryce Petty, a backup QB..... against Kelvin Beachum.... a familiar face.

I would have liked to see JH contribute here as much as anyone, but in the end for whatever reasons it didn't happen. Time to move on.

You keep saying this, but it's 100% wrong. His performance prior to those 2 sacks was far more impressive than the 2 sacks themselves. He was setting the edge effectively, he looked good in coverage, and he was getting pressure on the QB well before he recorded the 2 sacks.

He looked great on all 26 of his snaps.

Wow he was great huh that is high praise indeed. Was this when it was 14 to 3? 21 to 3? 24 to 6? Was it when the Jets had to abandon the run and had to do nothing but pass in order to try and close the gap? These pressures didn't by chance come when the only worry the Pats D had was getting after the QB?

The game was close for a while, and Harrison was asked to set the edge and cover, both of which he did very effectively. One of his QB pressures came in the red zone where he forced an incomplete pass and a FG attempt.

Playing in the front 7 requires more than just getting sacks. You know that, right?

Yes I do and as big of a JH supporter as I am I know when not to get excited by average play against a weakened opponent that was forced into being one deminsional.

Whatever about Harrison and the Jets game. The Steelers were stupid for allowing him to leave. Whether they played him or not.

No, they were quite relevant; it is appearing more and more than James got ticked off because they were not playing him. Now it appears as though he could have been contributing, and if he were he would not have gone off on his angry binge. So, the fact that he could still be productive is indeed the most relevant of all things.

For whatever reason? Yea, that reason was he was never allowed to play - there's the reason.
