I'm sure we're all amused by the Raven's loss, but....

Baltimore losing was the worst thing that could have happened to the Steelers today. If the Ravens win that game, they get the Chiefs and the Jaguars have to play the Titans again. As we saw today, Tennessee gives Jacksonville fits.

As it is, the Jaguars get an easy game against the Bills, who will most likely be missing Shady McCoy. McCoy hurt his ankle today and couldn't even walk off the field. I know the Jaguars stumbled a bit late, but that defense is still very good and a tough matchup for the Steelers. Throw in Antonio Brown's uncertain status and the defense in disarray and Pittsburgh might not even make it to the rematch with the Patriots.

Steelers will wipe the floor with the Jags. Blake Bortles is their QB.

He was their quarterback when they won, 30-9, in Pittsburgh in October. The defense was playing a lot better then and the offense had a healthy Antonio Brown.

If you're afraid of Blake Bortles in the playoffs all I can say is, get a dog!

At first I thought that also, however it occurred to me that:
Had Baltimore won, they would have had the 5 seed and would have played KC. Tennessee would have been the 6 seed and would have played Jacksonville. And they would have had a pretty good chance of beating them, having done it twice already this season. Which means that A) the Patriots would have faced the Titans, and B) we would have faced the winner of the KC/Baltimore game, and both those teams play us tough. As it is now I think Jacksonville beats Buffalo easily, sending the winner of the Tennessee /KC game to New England. I like this scenario better, as I think we will fare better a second time around against Jacksonville. Not to mention if KC wins the wildcard game they have a good shot of knocking off the Pats, and giving us home field in the AFCC

Please keep the Miami games in mind from last year. Also keep in mind that the Chiefs will likely visit NE provided they beat the Titans. So, we are probably gonna see rematches of the Chiefs - Patriots and Steelers - Jags. Both home teams lost in the first one

What if I told you the Jacksonvile coach used to coach the Bills and that he opted out of his contract. What if also told you that some in the Bills organization would like a little payback for a coach that quit on them.

The Chiefs aren't the same team without Eric Berry, who was dominant in that first meeting with the Patriots.

The Jaguars have some serious problems on offense, but they are a terrible matchup for the Steelers. They have the corners to handle Pittsburgh's depth at receiver and they have a strong pass rush.

Also, the Steelers should be afraid of any offense they face right now. That defense is a mess. What I want to see is them facing defenses that Roethlisberger can carve up all day. Of the teams still alive in the AFC, the Jaguars are the least likely team to allow that.

I'd tell you the Bills don't have the talent to get that payback, at least not without a healthy McCoy.

I thought of this, too. I still think the Jaguars are the worst matchup for the Steelers. I also don't think anybody other than the Steelers or Jaguars has a shot against the Patriots.

Jags are cold. Good times for them are over.

The only game that matters is when we go to NE. The rest of the AFC is crap.

The Jags defense is not quite as fearsome as they were earlier in the year. Heck. Drew Stanton put 27 up on them and Jimmy Garoppolo put up 44 only two weeks ago. Ben has been playing a helluva lot better recently than he was back in October. Also, lets just see how Bortles handles travelling to Pittsburgh in January and the divisional championship on the line. With the emergence of Juju, Martavius rounding into form, and Brown coming back from his injury, I like our chances.

The Ravens losing will NEVER be the worst thing to happen to the Steelers. I hate them and never want them to make the playoffs.

The Steelers can suck it up and fight our own damn battles.

    Doesn’t matter.
    I’d put money on it.

    Jags against Steelers
    Chiefs against Pats.

There are no easy paths or games. Survive and advance.

Doesn't matter either way. We're a different team than when we faced any of them the first time, especially on offense. As I recall, we crushed the Titans - not worried. We beat the Chiefs already, not worried. And Ben is a different Ben since the Jags debacle - not worried.

    Love this.

Jacksonville, aside from laying eggs the last 2 weeks, has no playoff experience to speak of. That is a huge factor that is often overlooked. Also, never assume things. N-E-V-E-R. Look at some of the weird things that happened today. Nothing is a given, not certainly a playoff green Jags team winning against a we-have-nothing-to-lose Buffalo team.

I will say that I've lived long enough to see and enjoy all Steelers Super Bowl wins. Anything else they get is gravy for me. I measure seasons by how we do against the Ravens, both head to head and in the division. So for me, this season is already mint.
