2 new individual team records set today

Aside from the team sack record, today saw 2 new individual records:

1- Chris Boswell- only 4 points but still enough to set the team single season scoring record with 142, passing Norm Johnson’s previous record of 141.

2- he had to come a long way to do it but I believe Ju-ju Smith-Schuster set the team record for receiving yards by a rookie with 917. The previous record was 910 by Jimmy Orr set back in the 50’s.

Not 100% on this but I think so.

Anyway congratulations to both on great seasons.

 

Ju Ju just maybe after today may be rookie of the year.

 

They both had great seasons. I expected it out of Boswell, but I rarely expect much out of rookie wide receivers. It is really exciting to see how well rounded Juju already is. I'm not sure what his weaknesses even are. He blocks, serms to be able to run any routes they want, adjusts on the fly with Ben well, runs great after the catch and is really hard to bring down, fights for the ball really well...Whatever I think of he can do. The deep catch with a guy actively trying to tackle him was particularly impressive. Anyway, he's awesome. Probably the most exciting rookie we've had in awhile.

My JuJu jersey arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm gonna wear it all week.

 

Kamara and Hunt both had more productive seasons, but Smith-Schuster is blossoming into something special. That ridiculous suspension is a real shame. It might have cost him a 1,000-yard season.

He really does look like the complete package. He doesn't have elite speed, but he's fast enough to get deep and to make big plays down the field. He certainly seemed fast enough on the kickoff return today. He seems to run good routes, catches the ball and runs well after the catch. Add in the blocking skills and I'm not sure what more you could want.

I freely and happily admit I had that one wrong. I didn't like drafting a receiver that high, but Colbert and Tomlin got that one right. Smith-Schuster is a big reason why the Steelers are Super Bowl contenders right now and he's going to be a big part of that offense for a long, long time.

 

The best stat of the year for JuJu is taking Burfict out for the year. That made me moist.

 

I think they got it. They had 50 coming into the game and sacked Kizer six times today. The old record was 55, right?
