I guess the best word to describe how I feel is disappointed. There's an old adage that says "professionals act as they MUST, not as they FEEL". James has been good for the Steelers but the Steelers have also been good for James. The system they've had there for the last decade has fit his skill set to a tee and has allowed him to be successful. We all saw what he looked like in Cincinnati that one year. He looked somewhat ordinary and not like one of the most feared linebackers of the last 20 years. Don't the Pats play primarily a 4-3? I don't see Harrison making much of an impact at all in New England, he basically looks like he's running in the mud. Belichick's playing him like a fiddle right now and when he's finished picking Harrison's brain for any usable information he can glean he'll be gone. The problem is Harrison was too short-sighted to see all that and just wanted to stick it to the Steelers. Let's face it, guys, that's what all of this is about.

While I will always appreciate Harrison's contribution to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization, I am profoundly disappointed at his juvenile and unprofessional behavior in his last season here. He is not bigger than the Steelers team and organization and some payers learn that lesson the hard way. Hopefully, time will repair the damage and Harrison will realize that his momentary vindictive gratification was not worth the blow to his legacy with the Black & Gold. At that point the fans will forgive and the healing will begin.

Perhaps his antics and lack of preperation relative to team practices and meetings was the reasoning he never got to see the field so much.. Not really a lie.. I think his attitude screwed his ass

Exactly. When you're asking for a release after the first game of the season that's probably not going to do you any favors.

Not to mention, he got payed nearly 2 mil up front. The Steelers had a right to expect some return on that investment, even if that means having the vintage car sit in the garage all season. His request to be released at that time was unreasonable.

I think he saw the writing on the wall with that first game. Let's remember he was on the practice field and at camp with Watt and Chickillo so he knew first hand where they were at and then week 1 he sees Chick in on the blocked punt and getting rotated in and Watt has a heck of a first game for a rookie, I mean it wouldn't take Josh Dobbs to put it together.

When did Bud “mock” JH? He said some things about JH that he felt would set the record straight. Whether he should have said them or kept them bottled up, not because of JH but because of the team, is debatable, but where’s this mocking of which you speak?

I am pretty sure when he said " mock" he is referring to comments made as he walked away from the reporter after he asked Bud if JH was a mentor .. He giggled ..

All he really wanted to do is complain about Dupree's production. If you read his posts that's the focal point.

I would agree he is underperforming. I also think Dupree went a little overboard. He cast a couple too many stones. He was very irresponsible in saying JH never went to see Shazier that would of been the most despicable and unforgivable thing to do....and then he lets it linger a whole day before coming out and clarifying that JH didn't go with the LBs....big difference Bud.
Like I said in another post time to put up or shut up. Leave no doubt that we won't be second guessing letting JH go all off season....

JH NEVER did those things until after they lied to him. Tomlin lacked the balls to shoot it straight with him.

Hey I’ll take a sack from him or anyone else on our team. It’s much needed!

Burns, Smith and Dupree are busts. Steelers were probably better off playing Harrison.

I’m sure the Steelers didn’t want this to end this way but Harrison probably became a cancer to the team.Sure,he still has capabilities to put pressure on the quarterback in third and long situations but other than that he lost a step or two in every down situations which was pretty clear as his lateral movement looked like slow motion as he tried to tackle a running back! We’ve had are share of great linebackers and he was definitely one of them.Father time catches up to everyone and he still thought he had it!Just very sad about how it ended!

JH still is a piece of garbage to play for a hated rival. I dont care what anyone says. Glad he is gone.

People keep saying how the Steelers lied to JH. Maybe they did intend on using him, but maybe in practice he just wasn't producing and they changed their minds. I do not call it a lie, I call it seeing what practice shows and making decisions accordingly.

So should Tomlin have traded Martavis when he wasn't happy and wanted a trade? Screw Harrison he doesn't dictate to the team how they handle things.

Getting tired of the "mentor" horse**** that continues to be promoted in pro sports. Yah, it's nice when guys like Jerome Bettis put younger guys under his wing and helps. Great, that's good I hope more do it.

However, these guys are professionals. They shouldn't need to be mentored or guided as some requirement from some veteran. Professionals should do that on their own first and foremost.

Expecting James to be some buddy buddy guy is dumb. He isn't one of those guys. He is a guy who takes pride in preparing relentlessly and playing. Steelers should have played him more since Dupree has been a terrible player this year. I'd trust watt and Harrison more than I trust Dupree and watt.
