Nobody wants to talk about this huh?
Are we still saying "He's James Harrison he gets a pass"?

But if what he says is disruptive and costs the team a Super Bowl, does that make it a wash?

Thus do our idols crumble or the distance from the penthouse to the outhouse can be awfully short.

I think fans believe a lot about players that isn't true. They imagine that players are as dedicated to the teams as they are. That they love them the same way. Yet, time after time, players leave fans bases that love them for better opportunity, more money, retc. And fans are shocked! But players see teams as employers, they are as loyal to their employers as you are to yours. Your loyal, maybe if they treat you right (in your eyes), but you don't usually love your employer, and you'll usually leave if something better comes up.

I don't have fans cheering me on at work. People are not buying Jerseys with my name on them. Like it or not there's a responsibility that comes along with a job like professional football player.
Harrison made a bad business decision. He may be getting a couple more checks this year, but he'll lose way more than that in lost revenue from future sales of his brand. I don't see many Steelers fans lining up to pay for his autograph.

It's all really sad how this is playing out currently. Gonna be a bunch of he said she said **** for a minute. Bud running his mouth is surprising... Sounds like a pissed off little brother having to walk in big bros shadow. I appreciate the insight however and maybe, this further galvanizes and motivates the youngsters to grow up and handle business like wrecking balls moving foreward.

What is James Harrisons responsibility? To live up to some fantasy image that fans have of him? Maybe he made a bad business decision, I don't know.

The Steelers weren't keeping next yr, so he got almost all the money has was gonna get from them. Also, JH doesn't strike me as a guy who'd sit around glad-handing fans for autographs. His snarly perpetually pissed-of-at-the-world personna meant that his advertising opportunities were limited. JH didn't market his brand well before, and he isn't marketing it well now.

The only difference: last week, last year , 5yrs ago, JH was a jerk, but fans excused it, rationalized it and loved him as the embodiment of some toughness ideal. Today, JH is still a jerk. He's simply shown it to those that didn't see it before.

Bud and TJ didn't say a word when Harrison was complaining about his playing time, maybe Dupree wants the truth to come out.

As surprising as I see it coming from him, I agree... He already had folks ****ting on him (kind of like we do) for lack of big number production and coming at him like why James and not you etc... He's exactly throwing out there what his point of view is and as I said I hope this lights a fire under him and TJ and the others moving forward

Sorry was gone most of the day my kid had a basketball tourney, but here I am ready to talk a bit. Lots of stuff coming out and JH was at the end of his rope. Honestly the guy feels like he can play and the Steelers for whatever reason didn't want to play him. I am not happy about either JH's action or how our team handled this. I am sure there is so much we don't know and probably will never know. What I do know is we are not holding one of them trophy's without JH and that imo gives him some....SOME leeway. At the end of the day this is a sad thing for all of us and I hope like heck it don't come back and hurt us, my first love is the Steelers so that is who I am rooting for.
