Its not the defense. I can't believe Mitchell is so deep and never adjusted. Brady knew he could bait him into crossing his feet to give room for Gronk. Davis is expecting help. Damn Mike. Come on man?...
Where were you going anyway? Gay was robber and naturally jumped to help of Brady's eyes to the 2 man side because he knew Mitchell was over the top to the 3 man side, which STILL left us +1 to either side of the formation.
Mike cheats too much and needs to learn. Overall Mitchell always goes for contact than plays the ball. We don't need Ronnie Lott. We need someone breaking up passes and being a step ahead. I believe he could have so many INT's but refuses to play the ball.

Hopefully I copied this link correct.

Mitchell was never very good, but this year he's been downright awful.

He is very capable. I don't get it??
Shazier is listed at 6'1 230. Out of college 4.38 in 40 yd and 6.9 in 3 cone pro agility
Mitchell is listed at 6'1 220. Out of college 4.39 in 40 yd and 6.8 in 3 cone pro agility

Maybe put 10 good pounds on him. He isn't afraid of contact. Tackling is a priority. Mike doesn't shy away.
Obviously have to find another safety.
Just looking at Mike's strengths and weaknesses.

Does Gronk have some kind of superpower that makes him invisible to our safeties?

Let’s talk about the Steelers’ 3rd and 4. Watch it again and tell me how many of our wideouts were held.

On the guy along the sideline to the offense left, the defender has a hand on him and pushes him towards the sideline for about 8 yards. Completely taking that wideout out of the play. BB compliments him because it allows the safety to come inside.

Here’s the deal, Artie Burns plays off a lot. If you put him in man, and this is legal, wouldn’t that free up your safety to double Gronk?

I’ve believed for quite some time what makes B.B. a genius is that he coached his players to play right up to what is legal. CB gets in an arm war with wideout. As long as both do it, they don’t call DPI. So you have to train wideouts to not push back, at least beyond half way into the route.

Love the end zone play being reversed multiple times and the big jersey grab to get over and get a hand on the ball to make the breakup being shown over and over.

That gets called and we're not having this discussion because it's 1st and goal from the 1 with the interception being overturned!

I think I'd be more upset about this if I didn't see coverage being blown almost every damn play.

Yeah, after watching it's hard to fault Davis on those plays as much as we all wanted to.

He was supposed to have help and it just wasn't there to make those throws harder.

They didn't mention the screw up on the pass rush on the one completion either. If pressure is there up the middle, which we all know is what gets Brady nervous, he can't step up into the pocket and make that throw and it's probably a sack.

Saw an interview with Gronk on NFL Network. First time I ever heard him speak. I know how great he is but hearing him speak I'd think he is one of the worse TE's in the NFL.

Many here have been saying all year how bad Mitchell has been playing and even mentally stupid by playing so far back. Also Gay shouldn't play anymore and should retire at season's end.

This was evident on the 2pt play. MM lined up 6yds deep in the ez and his assignment must've been the TE or RB coming out of the backfield. At the snap of the ball he sold out for the big hit and immediately charged to the line. We were all screaming when it happened because he SHOULD HAVE recognized the Gronk was one on one vs Davis who he had just abused the whole way down the field, and not been so aggressive toward the line. Once he made his move, he took himself out of the play and left poor Davis alone to be abused again. A smart player recognizes the matchup, comes down toward the line a few extra steps, and holds his position at the snap so he can get back and help covering Gronk. As it was, the TE picked up Watt and the RB stayed in to block and MM was left running toward the backfield to with his dick in his hand.

Mike Mitchell=the weakest link. He stands there like a statue, always late to the play like he is afraid to get beat. Cement shoes reaction time. This to me is the first priority in next years draft. I would rather see him gamble and get beat then just standing there like a deer in the headlights.
Hopefully his horrible play doesn't cost this team in the playoffs. No one is scared of his hits, but they salivate knowing he is horrible in coverage. We can see it, doesn't Lake see it?
