True. To be fair, my brother is a Charger fan and has had decades of practice in being disgusted thst his team would choke away opportunities. He also believes the NFL is rigged, helps the Pats, picks on the Chargers, colludes to keep HIS team from succeeding.........................................Wait! He sounds like a Steelers fan!

I grew up playing hockey my whole life. Hockey is great but football is king.

I think some people fail to realize I'm not saying boycott the Steelers. As hard as I tried I would never be able to do that. I saw the ratings; Steelers/Pats highest game then the lowest ratings in Pittsburgh after the game. I thought about how Steelers fans take over away stadiums. We are a huge force and huge football fans. We can send a message to the league while still supporting our Steelers. Stop watching other games. I honestly do not see the big deal. I thought I wouldn't be able to do it and it was fairly easy.

This isn't exactly true. Yes you are correct it's not really boycotting if you still watch. BUT The networks pay for ratings for all games...not just steeler games. The steelers draw higher ratings..that's a fact.. it's also the reason we have had so many nationally televised games this year. Even when we are not nationally televised we are still often the alternate game in many regions of the country. I'm in Wisconsin and I pay for NFL ticket. I've had to watch 1 game on NFL ticket this year...every other game was on Network tv or nationally televised. Kinda pisses me off cause I payed a lot for that one game. Networks need these ratings to charge the $ they need for advertising. If they don't get the ratings, they don't get the $ they need to recoup the enormous fees for NFL broadcasting rights.

If you think the NFL doesn't care if the average fan watches other games besides their favorite team you'd be badly mistaken. The NFL is what it is because every fan was watching every game. I'm not. I literally have watched 1 game not the steelers this season. I think the product is crap. I think the commercials are out of control. The officiating is crap. I've got better things to do then to watch that crap involving 2 teams I could care less about. I'm not alone. I know a ton of packer fans here in Wi that do the same thing. It's an erosion of the fan base. I don't think the league is fixing games. I just think there is likely tampering with the officials. People are naive if they think the NFL is the only sport immune to bribing officials. It's happened in every sport on earth.

Exactly but they don't get it. If Steelers fans banded together we could get at the NFL while still supporting the Steelers. But apparently they care more about watching other teams than the Steelers. I get it, I use to watch every game possible but that last game made me realize. I haven't missed it all either.

This is my point. It's not a boycott.

For me Christmas day is huge in the NFL. Perfect Christmas gift would be Bills, Steelers and Raiders victory. Although I'm well aware it could be a very terrible Christmas.
