They were both done. They were both shells of their former selves. The most realistic thing is Harrison was being outperformed and cutting him only makes sense. It sucks, but Father Time is undefeated.

I'm gonna guess Ravens or Eagles.

Hate to see him get released for Gilbert. I personally think Gilbert is becoming a liability that's not worth the troubles anymore. He can't stay healthy and then gets suspended four games for performance enhancing drugs. I feel like in the last 2-3 years that practice squad guys have seen the field more than him.

    Ugh.

I had this situation all wrong all year.

"Just saving him for the playoffs. "

I have no problem if the Steelers want to move on from Harrison after the season is over. But with 2 games til the Playoffs start it just seems like a bad move all around.

I understand the frustration, but if it comes down to cutting Hardison or losing someone else they believe is going to contribute then Harrison has to go.

So big Dan or Harrison? I've been a big Dan fan since he showed up but got over that a long time ago. I feel he was more expendable then James at this point. Respect or whatever aside, he has more contributional upside than Dan.

Oh I definitely understand that and I want to do what's best for the team, but it just seems like we could loose someone else. Who has been signed that is forcing this move? I understand Gilbert is back. Ridley for Connor and Spence for Shazier. I guess it was the Sutton move?

I went and looked at the roster and the only guys we could live without in my opinion are McCullers and Hunter. Then I counted and we only have 4 DL and 2 Dt so cutting Dan might not be a great idea. With Brown hurt I'd imagine Hunter could see playing time?

With the depth insight in mind, I don't know what they could do to bring him back should he clear waivers and not land elsewhere.

Didn’t he appear on the injury report this week? There are a lot of factors that go into the amount of participation he’s had, mostly the play of Watt. Having said that, if he was healthy all year, his snap count may well be higher.

That's probably about as outside looking in as we can get... Problem is there's a handful of teams that might could use him in a post season run. I guess we'll see. Really wanted him here to play a part in another ring with a proper send off.

He's looked healthy on Instagram all year for damn sure. Maybe he's had a falling out with the staff who knows its all speculation to this point. I too believed they were gonna use him more in a reduced role and keep him fresh for the walk off sacks down the road but as it stands, they never called his number to stop the run game bashing by teams running down their throats. Teams that were intent on running where he wouldn't be a liability against in coverage. Head scratcher for sure but I get the busyness side of it... Even if the common sense side of it is sparsely reckoned with here in terms of situational logic.

How do you assess “looks healthy” he’s missed practices because of injury this year, I mentioned it, because I thought I heard it on Steelers Nation Radio

Just basing it off of his moving mountains in the gym week to week brother... Hard to do if you're injured every week in my opinion.

For all we know he's been a major distraction and we just haven't heard about most of it. The steelers released him for a reason and considering he wasn't playing, I say they made the right call.

Enough with this stuff about saving him for the playoffs. We also thought they were saving him for the stretch run and that's obviously not the case. JH is finished.

Or, the reason is they think no one will pick him up. So they weighed risk versus reward. It wouldn’t surprise me if they sign him as soon as they can after beating the Texans
