Patriots have completely tainted the shield and ruined this league. We all know Belichick and Brady are best friends with Trump.

We all know Trump hates the NFL for not letting him own a team. So he partnered up with the XFL and lost to the NFL. Now lets keep politics out of this. I think we can all agree Trump hates to lose and holds grudges.

Wake up Godell, you are being sabotaged from within. Cheating for tainted Championships and holding the league hostage. Because what are they going to do? It would have been a 100x worse than steroids to baseball. 3 vacant Championships? Fans suing for their money back for rigged games? It would have been the death of the NFL. Kraft holds the league hostage to get what he wants.

Since you’re boycotting now you’ll have something else to watch.

Strike while the iron is hot. Draft Kapernick #1. Put a team in St Louis, Oakland and of course Hartford, CT and you got yourself a league!

You laugh but I think a lot of Steelers fans will join when they realize how big that call was. I can already see it now.. Patriots tie us in Super Bowls. Ben retires because of the teams antics and rigged games. Patriots more then likely surpass us in Super Bowls. I can see a lot of Steelers fans and NFL fans being done with the NFL if the Patriots get 6-7 Super Bowls. Death of the NFL and it all started last weekend.

You’re worried about the nfl being rigged and promoting something owned by McMahon?

That’s priceless. They should make it into a credit card commercial for the super bowl.

For a long period here you were making good down to earth posts. Now you are back on the rumble strips. Just stear a little more to the left.

Not really promoting. I just find the trickle down effect of that horrible call hilarious. Highest rated game then 3rd worst. XFL wants to comeback.

I enjoyed the XFL. I'd take it over NFL Europe any day.

Oh man I liked NFL Europe. It was like there was finally minor league football. I thought it was good for the league too in that it allowed players to develop.

I think the last two sentences tell the tale:

The original XFL, a joint venture between WWE and NBC, debuted in 2001 and lasted only one season.

WWE and NBC lost approximately $35 million each, after taxes, on the league.

Nothing to see here, kids, please move along.

It's a half assed selective non inconvenience boycott. Which really isn't a boycott.

So Vince cashed in $100 million and might, maybe, could be using it to form a revived XFL.

Keep in mind that $100 mil will buy you about 1/10 of an NFL franchise. It ain't a lot of money if you want to challenge the big boys.
And I see no reason to think that a new XFL will be any more popular today than it was in 2001.

In some ways a rival league would make sense. The NFL is getting reduced ratings, and appears to have no idea how to respond. As Elvis said in another thread, there is serious incompetence in the NFL upper echelons.

Consider the array of bad press it’s received - concussions, domestic abuse, PEDs, cheating, incomprehensible rules upheld with no consistency etc etc; and the response seems to be: “people aren’t watching because there isn’t enough passing! There can be no other reason.”

You can see why a businessman like McMahon would sense an opportunity. I highly doubt the Steelers Pats game has anything to do with it, and I highly doubt it will go anywhere because McMahon is as crap at reading public opinion as the NFL is.

It's not half assed. I used to be a NFL fan, now I'm just a Steelers fan. I use to watch pretty much every national televised game or at least have it running in the background. Not anymore. As hard as it was I didn't watch SNF, MNF, and I'm not watching any tomorrow. A lot of Steelers fans are diehard football fans hence why the game after the rigged Patriots game was the lowest televised in 11 years, 300 something games. We need to band together and remind them how important the Steelers are. Away games? We help fill half these pathetic stadiums. We need to stop helping these other teams until they stop rigging games for the Patriots.

If it's rigged and the Steelers don't really stand a chance there's no reason for you to watch. So you either believe what you say and boycott or don't actually believe what you say and claim a partial boycott. So yeah, it's half assed.

I'm not sure if they rigged it because 1) They saw the ratings and highest game of the year so they wanted that match-up again. Knowing no way Patriots make it as a 3rd seed. or 2) They want the Patriots to win the Super Bowl.
