I never heard any complaint about AB pushing off and neither did you untill cry baby harbaugh was crying about it to the refs last sunday, hairball never complained about his receivers doing it before, like smith senior the king of pushoffs, dez bryant does it all the time as does julio jones, AB does it with in the rules without the arm extended, good for him....

what are you going to say if Ben has another 5 interception game this week? Are 500yard games the norm or the anomaly?

There was a point when a Ben 300, 400+ yard game meant a loss.

Their is no doubt that Ben struggled early on. I feel once he put his foot down and rallied for the No Huddle he has been playing stellar.

Roethlisberger was well off his game the first half of the season. His deep balls were terrible. Too many short throws were high. He wasn't buying time in the pocket at all. Instead, he would make business decisions and throw the ball away.

Maybe his head was still in the retirement debate. Maybe there was a minor injury messing with his mechanics. Whatever the reason, he looks more like the guy headed for the Hall of Fame now. I'm guessing we won't get a full season of that guy any more, but he could still do something like this another season or two.

For the most part, the offense in general was sloppy and disjointed. Ben's play was below the line at times, but he took some unwarranted criticism. I think it's easy for people to see an incomplete pass and think "nice going, Ben". We're definitely getting hot at the right time, and if they keep playing at this level, good luck outscoring them.

Did you watch how he has been running for first downs and extending plays. Something he hasn't done in a few years.

To be fair, how could 500 yard passing games be the norm? He's done it 3 times (more than anyone else) in his entire career. I think there have only been 21 such games, all time.

Both 500 yard games and 5 interception games are anomalies.

Ben clearly struggled early on, but since the Jacksonville game, he is also clearly more focused...... I think the jags may have been a wake up call for him....

And just for the record....... even Kent graham has a 500 yd. Game on his resume

Yes finally instead of standing there like a lightpost. I'm talking about the sacks, you can see the pain on his face and the hits aren't even that hard. But to say he has 5 years left in him is ridiculous.

Agree on the AB "push offs." Sunday night Harbaugh was supposedly crying to the refs about AB pushing off. When I rewatched every single alleged push off, it looked like AB was pushing Carr's arm off of his own shoulder or arm. How is disentangling yourself from a defender who is touching you more than 5 yards downfield a push off?

Ben is one example of why coaches will stick with players even when they don't always play well.

I thought about it. The facts didn’t change.

Ben is not underrated by Steeler fans by any means.

Some games he’s great, even elite, some games he’s mediocre, some games he’s awful. He’s very inconsistent.

That’s not a rating. That’s just the facts.

He also has kids. He might want to spend time with them.

Early this season I thought there were two issues: 1) his physical abilities had deteriorated to the point where he couldn’t do what he used to do, and 2) he was force feeding the deeper receivers (usually AB and Bryant) when others were easily available underneath. I was clearly wrong about #1, though I do think he’s gotten into better game shape as the season has progressed, and I think I was right about #2, and he has recognized and fixed the issue. We still take deep shots, but they are usually based on favorable matchups.

I’m very happy to have been wrong about his physical ability. He looks like 2014 vintage Ben right now.

Yep. I remember that, even remember where I was when I heard it on the radio in my car. Definitely more then cuts and a broken nose.
