How many "washed up" QBs throw for 500+ yards a game?

And yet, that is what Ben did last week, against one of the best Ds in the NFL.

Think about that. He remains underrated, even by Steeler fans.

It helps when your WR pushes off 95% of the time. :hehehe:

I'm still shocked AB doesn't draw a flag every other catch.

Laying low.....but don't fret he is preparing his list of why DHB is our answer at Safety....scary thing is the way our guys are playing he might not be that far out there :smiley1:

We lose this week and he'll be back with more of his nonsense... All the more reason to win! Keep haters in the shadows.

AB pushes off to the defenders but he does it more subtle than other WRs, that's why he gets away with it.

I agree. I've said that I remember the drought between Bradshaw and Ben, and I'm grateful Ben is still playing.

Ben can play another 5 years. If the Steelers win it all this year, that's only going to give him more incentive to play.

Ben's skull went into a windshield without a helmet at 35 miles and hour and all he got was some cuts and a broken nose. Ben is made like granite, it will take a lot to mess him up.

Ben is playing at a high level right now, but he wasn't early in the year at all. It was fair to criticize him early in the season

I'm just hoping he doesn't retire in Arizona. I seen last week he can still get it done. BA probably has him on speed dial.

He's definitely been on a different level lately.

Since the bye (5 games total):

    150 Comp on 227 ATT (66%)
    1582 yds
    14 TD 4 INT
    99.4 QB Rating

Oh yeah, and 4 4th quarter game-winning drives.

(And just for comparison, over the same 5-game stretch, Brady's #'s:

    118 for 172 (68.6%)
    1324 yds
    11 TD 4 INT
    102.9 Rating)

IMO, Ben's numbers aren't those of a "washed up" QB. He definitely seemed to be out of it for the first half of the season...

Umm no he has 75 screws and a believe a plate also in his head. Also he came seconds from dying so a lot more than some cuts and a broken nose.

95% is quite an exaggeration! He does push off a lot though as do most WR's.

The problem is they need to clean up the rule on no contact after 5 yards. Either enforce it or get rid of it.
You could call holding or pass interference against DB's on most plays.
One officiating crew calls it different than another. Its gotten where players as well as the fans don't know what is or isn't allowed. It's rediculous.

I figured it would be "DHB could play ILB and have him cover Gronk"

Ben looked off early in the year. He couldn't hit a deep ball to save his life and he was high on a lot of throws. He looks worlds better now than he did . I still think he retires after this season .

At this point I think I could be the answer at Safety . DHB would be much better as a single high cover guy than the guys we have playing . We have to draft a lot of help at that position this off season. If we fail this year the Safety spot will have a lot to do with it.

Actually agree with you, DHB could not be any worse then what we have at safety, he could be an improvement with his range and speed

I agree.. He is playing lights out now which is good to see. He is playing smarter. Giving what the defense gives him and not forcing throws. He has his wearing his contacts is what I heard lol

I was thinking we should bring Wallace back as a free safety after watching him during the Ravens game! As for Brown pushing off, to be fair you have to recognize how often his hands are being held before that. If you are going to call his pushing off you have to call the hold also.
