Steelers would need to lose to Hou & Cle
( Pending they beat Cheats), and Jsgs win out to fall to the # 2 seed. Patriots would have no chance ( mathematically) at the 1 with a loss. In otherwords, things are set up nicely with a win.

Here's my question: Steelers beat Pats & Texans. # 1 seed is guaranteed. Do you rest starters against a potentially 0-15 Browns team? risking the embarassement of being their only win. Or do you play starters and ensure that inept franchise goes 0-16?

They would clinch a bye week next week if Miami hangs on and wins here which is looking like it will happen. They won't clinch the 1 seed just yet next week unless the Jags lose as well. The Jags and Steelers could both still finish 12-4 and the Jags would win the tiebreaker due to them winning here head to head. So the Steelers would still need the Jags to lose at least one more game or for them to win one more game to lock up homefield . This does though open the door for the Jags to get the 2 seed though should the Pats lose tonight in Miami and this Sunday to the Steelers. The Jags finish up with games against Houston,49ers and at Tennessee and if they win out and both them and the Pats finish 12-4 they would win the tiebreaker over the Pats and get the 2 seed and the Pats would be a wildcard. So things will get very very interesting for sure should that all that indeed happen.

Miami winning tonight would be a bigger deal than I realized. It would be great to have New England lose to Baltimore in a wild card game!

Edit: What happens if the Steelers, Patriots, and Jaguars all finish 12-4? I think we're all counting on that finale against Cleveland being a win, but I think a potentially 0-15 team will play really hard and take some chances (onside kicks, 4th down attempts, etc).

Jags get 1 seed and Steelers get 2 seed.
    ( Assuming they beat Pats)

I can't believe that Jacksonville has a shot at homefield advantage through the AFC playoffs.

Why does Gruden keeps on saying Pats need to get Gronk back from injury? Is Gronk injured or is Gruden senile?

A part of me doesn't want to hear the words, "All the Steelers have to do in week 17 to secure homefield advantage is beat the 0-15 Browns at home...." But, of course, if it comes to that.....so be it.

    Watched the game. Dolphins played
Great defense . Lots of pressure and their secondary was all over their WR’s . They played physical and basically man handled the pats WR’s. That’s not happening next week. We will have to beat them in a shoot out . Or we lose . Our secondary and LB’s do not have the ability to do what the Dolphins did tonight. It was enjoyable to watch actually . Forgot what good secondary play looks like .

Don't forget they were missing Gronk. They are not the same offense with him out, so they will be full throttle next week and losing well make them come out swinging. This team can match them offensively if they play 4 quarters.

I refuse to believe the Dolphins, same old sorry ass Dolphins, showed up to a game the Steelers are incapable of.

    Looking forward to beating them

3 weeks ago the lowly cards beat jax, and the jags still have two division games left with texans and titans and the titans have beat them once already, so dont count on them winning out, even their 49er game is no gimee since jimmy G is 2-0 right now...........

Still need would need a loss by the Jags. But, there is no reason for the Steelers should lose to the Texans or Browns. But, hey we been down that road before.

Ben needs to get this deflated monkey off his back. They will have 3 guys on Brown so use the other receivers & toll the Bell.

Ben keeps playing like he has the last 4 weeks and we win the shoot out this week. It is time we get these Patriot Monkeys off our back! Take care of business this week and the road will go thru Pittsburgh!!!!!

If we count our chicks as we put our oars in the water, we can put the icing on the cake while the iron is still hot. After all, guys don’t make passes at a stitch in time on a sow’s ear.
