I wouldn't read anything into his comments. Wouldn't surprise me if he retired, but wouldn't be shocked if he returned either. One season at a time.

i think the landscape of the team changed with shaziers injury. the defense is not just a player or two away now. i think this makes bens decision a lot easier right now. that's my thoughts though. i don't think he'll stay around another year or more to wait until the defense gets right. we just created a rebuild scenario with this injury to ryan. mitchells decline is another that adds to this taking more time to get right. ben's half way out the door after this. i know we wait and see but i can't help thinking this is it.

I hope it is just Ben wearing his emotions on his sleeve. His initial reaction to things can often be pretty passionate. However, I wouldn't be surprised by anything he does at the end of the season. Interesting times ahead!

I wouldn't go so far as to say a defensive rebuild is needed. I’m sure they will address the position either via free agency or the draft, but not rebuild. Shazier is a very good ilb, but he isn’t without his warts(missed tackles). At times his speed which is one of his best attributes was also his biggest detriment.

I think Ben plays out his contract. The Steelers need him & Ben will be there for them.

dupree? harrison. gay. mitchell. 2nd corner. ILB. depth all around. moats? wilcox. golden. we have to fill a lot of positions in the next couple of years and possibly by next year. we are not really that good without shaziers play inside. lots of work to do to get where we need to be. will ben want to wait that long? i doubt it.

A single fatherless Ben would definitely play on. A married with children Ben will retire after this season. I don't even think it's questionable at this point.

He said not going anywhere, he been protected and he’s surrounded by a great offense. If they were not a playoff team every year, then I could serve it but they are right in it each year.

I think this is the healthiest Ben has been in a long time. He’s playing great these last few weeks. IMHO anyone who says different is biased against him. We have a Super Bowl to win. Talk about next year can wait until after the parade

I became convinced this season that it would be Bens last. Im sure Shaziers injury only solidifies his decision (if hes made one).

Bens play looks like the tale of two tapes too me. Early on he looked like he was playing not to get hurt and then when he started playing well, he looked like his old self, moving around, even running for first downs, taking hits. Think he realized he needs to throw caution to the wind in order to play well.

If getting hurt is that much in his mind though, hes not coming back next season. JMO.

Honestly, I think Ben is more likely to walk away if they don’t win. This is a relatively young team. If they win this year, Ben might think about winning next year as well.

Retiring or not all depends on how this season ends. If they end it raising the trophy, I'm 99% sure he'll walk. If they don't, I think it's closer to 50/50

I’m actually thinking the opposite. If they win it this year, he may want to try back to back and get #4.

500 yards 2 td's and no int's. He was hitting guys underneath all game and you cherry pick one play? Ben has plums like no other QB in this leauge. Keep reaching though.

Doesnt matter how great Ben plays, he's not capable of giving him credit.

Not to mention, it was Haleys dumb ass for calling those plays. I thought he cost them the game, got lucky with the injury time out. Running would have at least made them burn their last time out. Its those stupid decisions that make me worry the most about this teams chances to win it all.

Having James and McDonald available is definitely noticeable. When the O sputtered, I think it coincided with McDonald’s injury.

That was a pretty bad play and I was think WTF, however 500 yds and a win when our D needed our O the most I like it. Ben was like a surgeon out there last night and that game was the game I have been wanting to see all season from Ben.

Ben shouldn't get too beat up in the pocket. If on sacks he goes down right away, slides when he does run and don't do nothing stupid, he should avoid any injury. IE, don't do what Wentz was doing, taking on tacklers. You seen how that turns out!

Also, he now leads the league in passing yards...

    Although Brady does play tonight.
