    Let's not go there. Thanks.

And to be clear, mentioning the protests is not an issue. The adjective you used is the issue and creates a political stir. The protests are provocative, to be sure. They are controversial without doubt. Using the term "misguided" levies a subjective, unwarranted judgement that cannot be objectively proven.

This. He is hired by the league. From an organizational perspective, the league is made up of a committee that consists of the owners of these teams. You could say that Goodell is just the messenger. Just how much is his interpretation of their desires is still up for debate. A person with his position does have some autonomy to make his own decisions. It's also likely that all of the owners don't agree and he has to strike a balance among them. There is likely a bit of compromise going on amongst the owners.

Except the NFL doesn't properly or consistently crack down on these hits. Take George Iloka as an example. He has previously been fined at least twice for illegal hits, both against the Steelers. That includes the hit last year that ended the career of Ladarius Green. (To be fair, that was only a matter of time.)

He launched himself, helmet-first, at Antonio Brown's head. The league suspended him, then changed its mind on appeal.

The league also doesn't do a damn thing to teams that violate the concussion protocols. The Dolphins did it with Matt Moore's head injury in the playoff game against the Steelers last year and there was no consequence at all.

I am not a Mike Mitchell fan, but he is right in his observation. The players know what they sign up for,

It's really that simple. The avg career is about 4 yrs, min league salary 500k/yr x 4. I believe vested in pension after 4 years. I have worked

over 40 years and not close to have made that kinda of money. Show me where to sign.

I watch a lot of other games and this isn't just the Steelers. I will say this I am all about player safety but this is a contact sport, I like that they are trying to take the head to head shots out but come on some of these calls are too much. MM hit the nail on the head about when a player is moving, you don't aim at the head but the player moves and you end up there. The speed of this game has changed so much and players are so much stronger a lot of big hits are gonna happen.

Here is one thing I have had a problem with, why does a player get to choose his pads or not to where any? The NFL should make it mandatory that each position has the same pad size. Like Bennett from Seattle his pads are pee wee size, don't that make him faster and when he does hit make it hurt more? IDK I am not an expert but I am just asking maybe it don't matter, seams to me that the faster the player the harder......just something to look at.

Turns out he was reacting in part to...

“Troy Vincent said that the league may adapt college football's handling of targeting that includes instant replay and an automatic ejection.” LINK
