It seems to me that we are. I don't live in Pittsburgh anymore and everywhere around here the opposing NFL fans are saying that we are the dirtiest team in the league. One guy today even told me that Shazier's hit was dirty. I told him it wasn't dirty, it was just a very bad technique that he has been using since college and it finally got the best of him. Another fan said that the hit on AB in the end zone was clean. I just laughed.

I guess our success is wearing thin on opposing fans.

Let's get #7 so they really have something to cry about.

Steelers win and play tough. Wimps and losers don’t like that.

most fans dislike a team that consistently wins if its not their own. Everyone loves to root for the underdog... I'd view the Patriots just like I would the Dolphins if they were a run of the mill team.

All successful teams are hated in every sport.

I didnt come across a single person who was rooting for NE last SB.

And I'd add that as the OP said other teams fans look for anything to diminish the accomplishments of a successful team mostly with false claims.

I'd say that the Cowboys and Patriots are the most hated teams in the NFL.

I am surrounded but Giant fans where I live but also have a tons of Cryboy fan friends. Some of my friends are Jet and Bills fans so there is always the competitiveness with them and usually us coming out on top. With that said like what was already pointed out having 6 rings is always the final words in any argument with other fans and I guess they hate that....I wouldn't know lol!

One thing that has been said to me awhile back by a good buddy and I try to keep an open mind to it as I watch the games. He told me he hates watching the Steelers cause they are a "boring" team. Now mind you this was a few years back when we were known for a running game and a defense. It has always stuck in my mind and when we all talk about how we struggle vs teams we should beat it makes me think of this.

I think when other teams look at our success and see how we just barley beat "bad" teams they consider us lucky and thus is where a lot of the hate comes from, jmo.

    Yep.

One because of the arrogant tone of being crowned "America's Team" in spite of the fact that Art Rooney Sr. Indirectly gave them said title (even more humorous is that Tom Landry did not want it either at the time).

The other due to highly controversial and recorded proven cases of hoodwinking the NFL and its fanbase on essentially an imitation of the "Steeler Way".... even though we all know we won ours with blood, sweat, tears, perseverance and fair play.

The Steelers are certainly the team most hated BY the NFL. I think it all stems from the Steelers being the only team to vote against the CBA.

The fact that Juju's suspension was upheld and that Iloka's was not (not to mention that Gronk's was the same one game) illustrates this.

There's also the fact that they don't give Ben the protection that Brady and others get. Add that to their single-minded pursuit of Deebo as far as drug testing goes and it's pretty clear. Goodell goes after anyone who openly speaks out against him.

I predict that the Cowboys are in for a rough couple of years coming up with Jerry Jones calling out Goodell the way he did.

    The Steelers have

    1- 6 championships
2- Last losing season was in 2003
3- Only 3 head coaches in 48 years

Those are just some of the reasons why people hate on the Steelers. Haters going to hate.

Honestly I don’t think the average fan cares. I live in Texas and when I moved here I thought I would be roasted when I went out.

Most people down here couldn’t point to Pittsburgh, PA on a map. You’d be surprised the percentage of people down here who have no idea what you mean when you refer to The Great Lakes. Not many but my naivety would have put that percentage at 0.

Hatred among teams is more of an East Coast thing and even then it’s among us diehards mostly. I’m sure the casual fan would like to see us lose but that is mostly out of us winning so much than being hated
