didn't watch the game on TV, but I heard that AJ Green was shutdown in the 2nd half after a big 1st half. I also heard that Cam Sutton came in for Coty in the 2nd half. Is Cam the guy who covered Green? or a both Sutton and Burns? Great adjustment in the 2nd half.

The rain caused lots of drops by both teams.
But in the second half, the Bengals had a few drive killer drops.

As above poster stated, drops did kill them but the defense also got some big sods and sacks where Dalton had nowhere to throw. It was clear that when Coty was covering green he was opened the whole 1st half, so Sutton was an upgrade as well as the defensive adjustments after half time.

I personally love giving the kid a shot because it doesn't hurt to get him experience and see what we have before playoffs. He could be huge down the stretch if he can play, especially when Haden returns.

Green technically had that horrible flag called on a 60-yard pass and catch, but still, really good coverage.

Sensabaugh has no business being a starting CB, the Steelers having him cover Green 1 on 1 .

What was horrible about the flag? There was clear holding, and without the hold it’s unlikely that the pass gets off cleanly.

I thought Artie Burns played pretty well last night. Cody needs to be replaced as he was by Sutton. I can see Sutton starting next week opposite Burns.

I assume Sutton will start next week. Sensabaugh sucks. He's been awful since Haden went down. The interception in his first start just helped to mask how terrible he has been. He was toasted for long touchdowns twice in his first two starts, then two scores last night.

They didn't really shut Green down. He dropped two passes, Dalton started missing and they had the long touchdown called back for holding. Sure, it was a correct call. Bernard grabbed Watt's jersey. But the coverage still sucked.

coty played pretty well the game he took over for haden. the game after that he had his moments. last night was bad but we also are in safety hell with golden. we need a shuffle back there for sure. i would like to see gay go to free safety some and sutton take over for sensabaugh. might be the best we can put on the field for now. very weak up the middle right now at ILB and safety. this is not good.

we need haden back fast. Shazier is a huge loss though, our run defense is even worse.

Watt knew he was held before Green scored.

About that hold...at first I agreed with the announcers that it was kind of a ticky-tacky call, but then I watched again. The hold was worse than what it appeared on tv. Tv angles don't always do a play justice, and this is one of those instances. That and a buck will get you a coffee!

Why wasn't Artie on AJ last night? I'm no NFL coach or coordinator, but I think I would rather have Burns covering him than Coty Sensbaugh or a rookie playing in his 2nd NFL game.

AJ shut himself down he had a key drop late in the game.

Burns doesn't seem to know which way to turn half the time.

Yep. In general, pressure is everything for us on defense. Cannot trust the secondary.

It was only raining when the Bengals had the ball. Mother Nature shut down AJ Green again.

On a serious note though. I disagree on the phantom holding call against TJ. Pretty weak call if you ask me on a game changing play. I was at a Cincinnati bar and a guy wearing a Mixon jersey said he was done with the NFL for good and gonna go home and burn his Maualuga jersey. LOL. Ray doesn't even play for the Bengals anymore.

I’m too lazy to go find it but here is a perfect shot of Watt pulling away from him with the guy pulling on his jersey.

They made up for it by the bad call on Wilcox that took away the Bryant return TD.

Which makes just putting him on AJ and telling him to cover him everywhere even more appealing. He isn't going to be screwing up which defense was called if he is doing that.

Watching Sensabaugh last night made me rue letting Cockerill go, he often seemed to do well against Green.

At the same time, I doubt Cockerill would have accepted the back up role and his contract was finishing so...

Didn’t realise Sutton was on the field second half. Will watch the all22 later, but that’s promising given the coverage sacks we had.
