    Keep it up Shazier :applaud:

Not out of the woods yet but promising. He's being kept overnight with a return to Pittsburgh tomorrow.

Is this the same injury Maddox suffered during the Titans game in '02? If it is... that will be a blessing. Maddox recovered in a few weeks.

Another OP in this thread said it was not a spinal concussion as previously reported but rather a spinal contusion. Contusion is more serious but it's likely far to early to make any kind of assessment on his progress from here foraward.

A "contusion", is a bruise. Ryan might be able to play again this season...

At this point, I just want him to be able to lead a normal life again. Having him back for this season will the cherry on top.

If he makes a full recovery, wouldn't surprise me if he retires. Not having the use of your legs must be frightening.

    I'm not going

A doctor wrote an article last night about the differences between a spinal contusion and concussion. This is far more serious than just a bruise. There's a chance Shazier suffers permanent nerve damage from this.

I'm trying really hard not to read anything into that tweet.

I wouldn’t see it as anything more than a nice gesture on the Steelers of sending parents to their son while he’s recovering.

Yeah, a spinal concussion is better than a contusion. Maddox had the concussion. Bouchette was tweeting concussion, but I've also heard contusion. Would be nice to get something definitive.
