The term goat gets carried around way too much in the nfl...there is no goat, different eras of football...if the amount of rings makes you the greatest then I guess Charles haley is the greatest of all time.

You're correct - Ben is a lousy cornerback. Failed us every time.
You said it first - troll - easy solution - swiftly head on over to NYGiants.com/forum where you might feel much more comfortable. Only problem, they'd probably say they'd prefer BB over Eli at this point. Sorry, you might be floating adrift for a while.

Ahaha first I was a pats fan ,now I am giants fan....the guy has 2 rings off of brady, he must be doing something right......but wait eli had nothing to do with those rings, it was all defense right ? When giants won those sbs, eli was at home resting..

My wife and her family are Giants fans. I watch every game when the Steelers aren't playing at the same time. Eli would be a potential stop-gap (not that this would happen), but I'd take Ben over him any day of the week and twice on Sunday. My wife, and I suspect many Giants fans, would say the same.

What matters is wins. INTs are a nice stat, but go look at Brett Favre. Wins are what matters. I don't want to see Ben go. But if he does, with this team, I would absolutely take a vet QB. Though, since we have such a great team, be nice to get a QB to take a discount to come win.

If Pittsburgh can handle Ben’s ego it could handle Eli’s. I didn’t think Eli has a big ego. Maybe I’m wrong? I’m not a Giants fan except when they played the Pats in the SB!

It’s going to be hard when Ben finally calls it quits. A lot of us complain about Ben, myself being one, but who’s going to replace him? I’d take Eli if Ben retires. He’ll have an offensive line, a running game, and stud receiving group. Never mind our defense is getting better excluding last weeks game. All that said I doubt very seriously it’ll happen. I think Ben would reconsider if he knew Eli might fill his position.

We don't need Ben or Eli, we have Landry.

Now that would really stick it to the Giants.

I'd go Alex Smith over Eli if I had my choice, but the Jax talk makes a lot of sense.

Have you watched Eli anytime pressure comes.....he folds right up. I am not just talking about this year either, his whole career. He wouldn't last very long here, even how good our oline is look how much Ben still gets hit. Eli this late in his career I want nothing to do with on this team, jmo.

You mean like how he evaded the rush and extended the play to complete crucial pass in the SB to win the game?

Id take Ben every day of the week and twice on Sunday over Eli but if Ben calls it quits and the Steelers lure Eli here, Id be quite comfortable with him as QB for a couple years.

I guess if that was what you saw, I saw a guy who did escape but just threw it up and a WR made a GREAT play on that wounded duck! I watched to many games where Eli just threw it up and came out smelling like roses.

At least we agree Ben over Eli any day and twice on Sunday over Eli, but I want no Eli here.......

Thats weak man, if Ben did that you wouldnt be saying that. Yes, Tyree made a great effort to come down with it but Eli got it to him, pretty decent pass too AND didnt fold like a deck of cards in the face of the pass rush.

I'd get him right now. Or a sandwich. Both are better than Landry Jones.

No if Ben did that I would be saying just another Ben moment, yeah Eli did do a great job not getting sacked but he just threw it up and Tyree made one heck of a play. I have battled NYG fans the whole time since Ben and Eli have been drafted. This is where my hate for that team has come from, man there is nothing worse than a Giant fan when they win at least around here where I live.

With that said I have watched many a Giant games to root against them and talk trash the next day at work to my fellow coworkers/friends. While Eli made a great play on that play there to not get sacked he basically would fall down many times almost without getting touched. There was a reason he started that many games in a row he don't take hits.. Eli and Ben are mirror images of each other when it comes to the style of play and while I am not knocking Eli's "style" no way do I want that here not even for a year!

I don't want Eli here period. He won the SB a long time ago. He has lost it since then.

maybe we send them all to UMPC and take the good parts from eli and the good parts from ben and brain from dobbs and put them on landry and we have a young talent for the next few years. :hehehe::cool:

My hope is that Dobbs becomes a great student of the game and position and surprises us all. But what are the odds that will happen? Regardless Finchtner should not be the QB coach.

That play was a rare exception. Manning does not escape the pass rush often.

And the throw was not a good one. Manning threw it up for grabs and got lucky.

I wouldn't mind him as a stopgap next year if Roethlisberger retires, but let's not kid ourselves about what Eli Manning really has been during his career.

Didn't Pouncey say that he's retiring when Ben does?

So we need a qb AND a center.

Looks pretty good to me. I dont agree with the narration that it was the greatest play in SB history but I can admit it was a fantastic play by both Eli and Tyree. He didnt just chuck it up for grabs, he saw Tyree and made a pass that would have been fairly easy to haul in if the defender hadnt been yanking on Tyrees arm. It was Tyrees effort to fight through that, which made it so great on his part.

Eli is a good QB, I think its silly to pretend otherwise.
