It is on Lake to correct these break downs and he needs to before we face better QB's.

The three big plays were all the result of trying to do too much or being overly aggressive.
I was surprised the double move didn't happen to Burns. The Announcers have been pointing out for weeks how he is always looking into the backfield and might bite on a pump fake and double move.

The last drive by the Packers is what really had me ticked Hundley exposed our week inside coverage and hit seam after seam as they marched down the field. If we don't get that fixed Brady will have a field day.

I can't say either way cause I'm not there.....Sensabaugh did say he was the best DB coach he's ever been around....but maybe he said that so he can keep playing when he gets burned:smiley1:....like I said I really can't pin blame but our evaluating and drafting needs major improvement. Way too many misses in the draft or is it lack of development.....hmm.

I don't know but whoever is evaluating the DBs come draft time sucks sweaty balls. Most of our secondary starters have come via free agency/trade in recent years. Mitchell, Cockrell, Haden, Sensabough, Antwon Blake, Will Allen, Hilton was with 2 teams his rookie year, etc. Taylor, Clark, Polamalu, and Gay were all here before Lake IIRC.

Burns and Davis are only in year 2 so the jury is still out. Burns has taken a step backward it seems, but you just have to keep hoping he progresses.

Every other position coach, except QB coach, has taken a mid or late rounder or rookie UDFA and coached them up to starter or rotation depth.
WR - Eli Rogers, Bryant, OL - Finney, Hubbard TE - James RB - ?? tough with Bell entrenched
DL - Walton, OLB - Chickilo, ILB - Jerry O promoted in '15 so only 2 years, Matakevich

Lake hired in 2011 and I can't think on one (Cortez Allen maybe) pick that's been developed from the 3rd round on. Maybe I'm forgetting someone???

Lake was a very intelligent player as we all know, so I'm sure he can coach the Xs and Os. Can't really say for sure on his coaching prowess, but the draft pick success rate has been lackluster.

The drafting doesn't warrant a hot seat though imo.

I agree but he might as well lift the Lombardi one more time cause he ain't leaving before seasons end anyways.
