Burn's? How bout Mitchell? He might be the worst tackling safety in the NFL. His angles and missed tackles are laughable. I'd say our entire secondary is falling apart. thank god for our d-line.

Need Haden back for New England, BEFORE the playoffs. Lose home field and we have no shot at all in the post season against the Pats. In order to beat New England, we must play man, not zone. And no Haden against the Pats, means no man, and no man, means Brady cuts us to pieces for the 27th time.

Burns doesn't have it above the neck , he makes plays here and there but man I don't trust him and he messes up a lot . Gotta draft a replacement for mitchell too. Davis thankfully is a good player as well as Hilton and haden.

Burns is more miss than hit lately... Mitchell has his moments, but leaves MUCH to be desired. The communication HAS to improve as well as these boys recognizing what's coming and quit blowing their assignments based off of the notion of safety help. These wide open sideline scampers have to stop!!!

We tried playing man plenty tonight with no Haden. We made their QB look like Brady. Funny thing it was because of missed tackles and blown coverage's 90% mental errors. I don't agree about NE. I think we can beat NE if we can consistently put Brady on the turf. This has always been the key to beating NE. This is also why few teams beat NE. Few teams are ever able to consistently knock Brady around. They run screens better than anyone...and Brady uses his check downs better than anyone. Seems to me if you can physically jam their WR's at the LOS and pressure Brady you'll beat them. We drafted Burns for this very reason. Haden can also play physical but he's not coming back till the playoffs so forget about it.

Agree with Burns, he needs a good ass chewing from coach, and his tacklng is just horrible. I think he got the skills, but doesnt seem to be progressing.

    Need Haden fr the playoffs.

I have seen nothing from burns so far too have any belief that he will be anything more than bench depth. Chewing him out isn't going to make him suddenly better, you either have it or you don't. Haden has it and has been solid in this league, Hilton looks like he will be solid. Burns was lousy from day one and still is.

why was gay playing so much last night? he was getting torched as well, just not for 50 yarders. where has wilcox been? sutton? allen gets a hat but why not see the field? he plays ST's only. sensabaugh ( minus one play last night), haden, hilton, davis, sutton?, wilcox?, allen? seem to be our best hope. mitchell, artie, gay, golden could be replaced by next year i'd hope.

Of the nine passing plays of 40 yards or more, he is responsible for 4 of them.

Unacceptable indeed. The second year is supposed to be the most important year for players. Sadly, Artie is having a sophomore slump of sorts.

Sean Davis though has come on in a big way lately.

I agree on this wholeheartedly. Last season I thought Burns had ball skills but not the confidence to consistently play with his back to the QB while running with the receiver. This year I'm seeing just blatant mental mistakes like peeking into the backfield or sloppy tackling BUT I throw blame at our Coach Carnell Lake whom I questioned the hire and for the last 2 years his worth.

In reality we wanted William Jackson but much like the year Revis came out the team before us (Bengals) snatched him up. That kid who missed all of last season with an injury is head and shoulders better than Artie who I would have benched a game ago.

Obviously the need for a safety is glaring and I believe we satisfy the need via the draft but I believe the Steelers need to get Cam Sutton ready for the playoffs by getting him some game reps and get themselves another veteran corner next year, draft both a DB and Safety and potentially bench Artie next year until he learns the position in full including assignments.

Burns has to stop guessing and start doing his job on every play.

To think I saw people on here saying Haden wasn't good. Defense is night and day with him.

When Burn's made that tackle near the goal line and crossed his arms in stance I almost blew a gasket. I have not lost faith in Burn's yet but he needs a reality check that he is costing this team with his inconsistent play. Opposing QB's are salivating. Tomlin and Lake should bring him into a dark room, roll the footage and blast him for his play, then point out the stupid crossed arm play. Needs some growing up and fast.

As far as Mitchell is concerned he is the weakest link in this defense. What has he done this season that stands out? He is horrible in coverage, can't tackle for shat, always late to the play. He lacks instincts to make a play. Case in point last night GB 3rd and 1 runs up the middle, gets the 1st and who do you see just standing there? The Hitter. No one cares anymore that you can hit. Shoot the friggen gap hitter!

Finally the brass makes a solid move and bring in Haden. And what happens? He gets a major injury. Hopefully he is back for the playoffs. Hopefully. I can't see him being back any sooner.

The best Defense at this point is our Offense. Keep the No Huddle going. They are going to have to go toe to toe for this team to reach it's goal.

Agree we need to get Sutton up to speed, and also play Gay less. Don't think we we have a replacement to sit Burns.

The REAL key to shutting down Brady is to be able to apply pressure up the middle without blitzing. Edge rushers don't bother him much and blitzing him is the primary ingredient to a major ass beating by the Pats. Pressure up the middle with your base D. Giants did it, ravens and Broncos used to do it.

Hey, let's put TJ Watt at corner. Did you see that play he made on the pass to Jordy Nelson? Dude has some pass coverage skills.

I don't think he's thinking too much, but he's definitely trying to do too much. Actually, it seems like he's not thinking enough and forgetting his responsibilities on the field.

Pretty sure all of the big plays allowed were caused by people not playing assignment sound football. There’s even a gif out there showing Tomlin after the first touchdown. It looks like he’s saying “ just like on the effing film”. That says to me they went over that exact play and for whatever reason Burns blew his assignment.

That’s basically what separates the patriots and the Steelers. Rarely if ever do you see a patriot defender blowing an assignment. The Steelers on the other hand do it weekly. Or at least it seems that way. Maybe Burns isn’t smart enough to make the connection between what he sees on film and what happens on the field. Whatever the reason it’s exasperating and needs to be fixed with a quickness. Otherwise we aren’t coming close to hoisting #7 this year. We will either be bounced from the playoffs or embarrassed in the Super Bowl.
