The article I read said it was strictly a special teams move since JuJu was out. I would expect Watson to sign to the practice squad and sign back to the 53 when JuJu returns. No way they need Fitz to run the ball. At least I hope that’s not their plan.

The logic on this escapes me. Fitz is a known quantity and if he couldn't make the team from the start what can you expect him to bring to the table now?

Terrible. Fitz is not an NFL back and never was. Some of the weak players they fall in love with is moronic. They might as well bring Redman back while they're a it.

Touisant should not even be considered over Watson for anything, I would love to be in on those conversations and see who the idiot is who is even suggesting such moves, then I would fire them for not knowing football or personnel!!!

Somebody is going to snap him up. I doubt he makes it back to practice squad.

Dam I would hate to see this guy get snapped up by another team. I was impressed with him in the preseason. Great size and seemed to always get at least something always going forward.
Pure short yardage guy that I don't feel we really have. I was wishing he would have gotten a few more snaps.

I say the exact same thing about the Pirates. And you can substitute just about any name on their roster:( Of course the owner doesn't fire personnel, he gives them 3-4 year extensions.

Trying not to go overboard with my reaction.....but I hate it. I blame the person who brought those yummy, buttery, flaky breads to the Tomlin Thanksgiving Day dinner.....must of jogged his memory and reignited his unfounded love affair with Croissant.

It makes absolutely no sense unless he is gonna see some time at RB which makes Conner a disappointment at this point. What really frustrates me is Tomlins explanation last year when Toussaint was miserable in KO returns. Tomlin defended it by saying he was the blocking back even though teams were deliberately kicking it right to him. Now who is the up back since yesterday you just cut the one you had? Is FT now blocking for someone with at least a chance they can do something if kicked to? I just don't see why you couldn't just leave Watson alone and replace JUJU....now you are replacing 2 guys with 2 guys who haven't been in that position all season......don't get it....we shall see.

If they cut him, he'd already be a Patriot. That's just how Belicheat rolls.

Tomlin is a super bowl winning coach. He has willed this team to 8-2 this season. His logic is undeniable and if you have a problem with it, I refer you back to his winning record. That's all that matters. He's 8-2 so he can't make bad decisions.

Cam Sutton taking his place on KR?? Only reason I can think of and that is a far fetched one. Stupid move imo. A limited resume for both, but I think Watson has shown more upside.

Unless there's an upcoming suspension for Watson, I don't see the reasoning.

Damn... we cut one 3rd string RB in exchange for another, and it’s the final sign of the apocalypse. And there was so much I wanted to do with my life....

Again, sometimes it's just understood. With my not-so-subtle bashing of Tomlin this season, there's 0% chance I'm being serious.

i guess i'm the only one seeing some logic in the move. if we get a lead and remove bell to save some wear and tear on him we still need a guy capable of blocking on passing downs in the backfield.

FT is much better at that than conner at this point and is a better all around back than watson. watson was a short yardage guy that we don't know about in the blocking department. the coaches would know better.

FT is not near as bad of a RB as some are making him out to be. his rookie year the kid did very well for us in the playoffs. sure there was that fumble but show me a player that touches the ball that hasn't fumbled for us. bus? heath? bell? AB? ben? it happens to the best of them. i don't think he has fumbled since. he is a good ST's player. he's never going to be a kick returner super star but who has?

he can run the ball and catch it out of the backfield and block on passing downs. that is worth it's weight in gold at this point of the season to keep ben as healthy as possible. he'll be a 3rd down back if we decide to rest bell some in this game. he will also play some ST's. no more no less. conner has enough size to be a short yardage back if needed.

I agree if he spells Bell.....not Tomlins MO though. Very disappointing that Conner can't fill that role especially where he was drafted. There are a lot of rookie RBs doing work. In theory the move makes sense but it doesn't say much for our talent pool at RB if FT is our best option....still searching for that explosive back that can do a respectable job blocking ......maybe we can channel Leonard Nimoy:smiley1:
