We do still have a habit of playing down to the competition. Chicago and Indy should have been very easy wins. I don't see us losing to the pack either, but it also wouldn't shock me if it happened.

Difference is in the past it was the Lebeau coached Defenses that would allow second rate qbs to look like all pros. This year , even in our two losses the defense has not played poorly against the opposing qbs. The losses were mostly on the offense. After the second half of the Colt's game and most of last weeks game there is hope that that won't be the case again.

If our offense is clicking, we can beat anybody. When we play NE, they will play their best and probably score at least 27 points IMO. Our improved D should hold them under 30 with a small chance they keep it slightly under 27. We can win a fairly high scoring game like 31-27 or so. It`s up to the offense.

Not exactly true we beat them in 1997 by a 7-6 score in the divisional round, and loss the AFC championship game to Denver.

But that was pre- BB and Tom Brady of course.

To add insult to injury... the Good Morning Football crew on NFL Network asked each other when the Patriots would lose again. They all said next August in preseason.

At this point, I have to agree. The Steelers are total incompetent crap against the Patriots and I don't see any NFC team competing with them in the Super Bowl this year.

News flash. The Packers haven't been at full strength since Rodgers got injured. Far from it actually.

Beating the Pats in the playoffs is pretty much what it's all about. This is probably Tomlins best chance he's ever going to get (and with this team).

The day he actually plays "chess" against belichick in a playoff game is the day ill have renewed respect. But I think he's too easy for Belichick

According to the ESPN playoff calculator if Steelers, Pats and Jags win all their remaining games and Pats win week 15 vs Steelers PATs are #1 and Steelers #3. If Steelers win week 15 Steelers #1 and Pats #2.

"We"(The Steelers, I mean, so as not to offend any assholes on message boards who always criticize the use of the term "we") will probably play the Patriots twice. We want to beat them at Heinz in the regular season, so we play them in Heinz in the AFC Championship game.

It is possible to beat the Patriots, although it is very difficult to beat them twice, but that is what we're going to have to do.
