just check the total defense (yards allowed) stat and found this:

    Steelers #4
    ...
    Patriots #32

patriots are dead last in total defense!!!!! they've allow over 4,000 yards. Steelers have allowed 2,800 yards. I really have a hard time believing how the Patriots can allow so many yards and still win like they do. But Patriots are #2 in offense.

    unbelievable.

I'd like to see those numbers for the last six games (i.e., after the first four games).

Their most important defensive stat is 20.3 ppg allowed, which is good for 12th. Setting aside that they’ve improved drastically in recent weeks, they also play with the lead most of the time, which will usually result in giving up a lot of passing yards (they are 32nd in pass defense).

The Pats have a very solid, but beatable, defense. If our offense brings its A game, we’ll score a good amount of points. If not, it’s going to be a lousy day.

Over the last three games Pats are third in the league in pts allowed per game with 12.3, Pitt seventh with 16.3
Also, on the season the Pats D has allowed more than 10 pts less on the road than at home.

ah ha, then the Steelers will plan to loose to the Pats in a few weeks so we don’t get the number 1 seed and therefore can make their defense play at home should we play them.

    Brilliant.

I see the tin foil hat members jumping on this one. ;)

Points is the only stat that matters.

New England was giving up the points the 1st 4 weeks. They have been better in that department as of late.

Steelers have been goon in allowing few points too. That wins you football games.

Hopefully we are able to do it against the Pats.

NE will be coming off a Mon night game against Miami. 1 less day to prep, but against a team they know-and will have faced 2 wks prior.

Pitt will be coming off a Sun night game against Cincinnati.

    Don’t think there’s really any andvantage/disadvantage there.

Really proud of this useless post.:lolol:

    I slightly disagree.

Dallas was 5th in ppg last year. It was skewed from scoring first, then maintaining TOP via running. When push came to shove they couldn’t stop Rodgers.

Great defenses take over ball games when they have to.

    Steelers are

    2nd in ppg
    2nd in sacks
    4th in ypg
    3rd in pass
    8th in rush
    4th in int
    8th red zone D

    Haven’t allowed an opening td.
Only team not to allow over 17 points in regulation all season.

Oh raisins quietly having a good defense. 3 shutouts... just giving credit.

Our defense has mental lapses but they clamp when needed. Backup players and all.

I don't think so. We haven't given up many yards/points pretty much all year, thus the good ranking. The pats stunk it up on defense the first 4 games and have been better the last 5... skewed their stats one way or another and hurt their ranking. (although I do think they are somewhere in the middle).

This is as beatable as they've been in a while. Defense is mint great and the offense is missing some pieces due to injury. Still lots of football to be played though.

The Pats defense has been much better as of late. But, they've played absolute cupcakes with no offense.

So, take it how you want.
