Very nice trip. wasnt too crowded and easily there were more Steeler Fans there than any other team.

Im walking up to the second floor with my daughter and 3 older people in Browns attire pass us on the steps and looks at my daughter decked in steeler gear and a woman is saying.....i just want to say it so bad. i ifnored it and we kept walking up the ateps and she said it again. i turned around and said, say what? that ur jealous of us. thats all id expect a browns fan to say. i wasnt looking for an argument but the way the woman seemed to want to say something after looking at an 11 year old child got under mu akin a little. they didnt say anything and kept walking.

im not from the ohio area so i dont have to deal with browns / bengals fan hardly at all. i am still trying to figure out if these people are actually that stupid to think they even matter in this sport. are their fans as much of a trainwreck as their team?

Thanks for the post, good stuff.

I will speak to the last post and Cleveland in particular. I have respect and admiration for true Browns fans because they are true fans. They certainly are not band wagon fans. They have stuck by their team for a lot iof bad years just like Steeler fans prior to the 70s. Are they sick of the Steelers, yes. But, they have a right to be, and they still support their team.

We loose 2 games and total hatred comes out of some people. Shame on them.

God bless the Steelers and all those who seve. Not in that order.

Browns fans are jealous of the Pats especially since belichek was once a brown..Browns fans are aiming higher of what they want in a team..and it's not tomlin.

That's a pretty harsh statement. Please reconsider your disdain for fans of other teams.

When The Chief bought the Steelers he didn't buy a team with today's history and expectations.

Steeler fans endured 20+ years of being irrelevant in the sport before we hit the lottery. As you likely saw, it took us 9 years to post a winning record and another 5 before we reached our first post season game, and lost it. 10 more years went by before we actually became a legitimate, competitive team. And it was another decade before we, as fans, hit the lottery and enjoyed the 70's and "the dynasty".

The Browns, on the other hand, were dominant right out of the gate. Their first 20 years or so were very successful and solidified a fan base accustomed to winning...and relevance. Something the Steelers only dreamed of. It wasn't until the 70's that our fortunes reversed. And I'm sure you know the rest.

So before you begin discounting teams and fans as being unnecessary to this sport, please consider that half of our existence was an afterthought to others and that we are monumentally fortunate to be fans right now during a winning era.

chief i don't think it's just because they are from Ohio, ignorant is universal. some people don't realize some good ribbing doesn't take the same meaning when a young child is involved as it would between adults. hope you enjoyed our great state and can accept the fact that stupid doesn't have boarders. :smiley1::cool:

i just deleted responses i had in previous posts not because i regretted it but only to not cause issues.

glory days...you are absolutely wrong in what u are saying. you cannot compare success of the pre superbowl champions. there were 4 teams at one time in the nfl and 1-2 of them spending all of the money for something that wasnt nothing more than buying championships. heres what i compare that to. the steelers winning their division of four teams the majority of the time. your obviously a smart person and i see what ur saying but its not the same. the nfl is now set for no advantages and there is a reason they talk about pre and post auperbowl era. why dont they recognize the browns with any championships then?

no art rooney didnt buy the steelers with todays history but let me ask this? what made that history? he did, the coaches did, the players did. the organization was ran correctly and look what happened. there wasnt a lottery. lottery is luck. the steelers built what they had. their 6 superbowls were not because of a lucky bounce or anything like that. what would the steelers organization do with all the #1 draft picks or top 5 they had over the last 25 years or more that the browns had? would it be the same result? no. the browns are the browns because of their own failures and incompetence. it has nothing to do with luck.

ueah the steelers were horrible, but the little bit of money players made it was the big city teams who got the big players. there was no even playing field like there is today. the nfl before the superbowl was nothing more than forming this sport. thats why they dont recognize the browns as being champions. pre superbowl dosnt matter. all that matters are lombardis.

i would like to think that people that say how well run the steelers are run from top to bottom are right. how many times have we heard over the last 7 years......boy the browns are going to be a team to rekon with and high draft pick after high draft pick here they sit again this year. 0-6 and bottom of the barrel. when will they have a winning season? who knows. we do know that we do it basically every year. who care what my great grandfathers steelers did in its infancy, when rules were not set to make things even.

there is alot of passion in football and i am a very passionate hard nosed fan and i will say the browns suck and are only relevent in that they have 1 of 32 teams in the league but thwy are awful. what part of that organization has quality?

please if anybody disagrees and somehow because i feel as though the steelers are equals to the browns because of the “old days” let me know. i have a feeling that not many people are going to disagree with me. maybe by putting it so bluntly but thats about it. go steelers!

the trip has been nice and ohio is a beautiful state. i apologize for making it appear any differenly. very nice people. my issue came when a few idiots trying to ruin somebodys day. it wasnt a ribbing, they actually never directly spoke to us. just laughing and whispering which got louder the further away they became as we went up the steps. my daughter was clueless and asked what happenes and if we did something. we went there and minded our own business, didnt say things to other people because they were a fan of this or that team. and that didnt affect our day at all as weve laughed and joked about it aince then. we are in columbus for a showcase softball tournament for my older daughter this weekend. the highest level she can play at and shes doing very well. a very proud father so as we got back to the hotel this evening we ordered food and after 1.5 hours it still didnt arrive and they lost our order. as thw wife is trying to get it figured out my older daughter said tell them were steeler fans and we just laughed about it. of course from canton to columbus they got the bengals browns stories from dad. so that is what my weekend is right now and i wouldnt trade it for nothing. im a very overprotective dad and both my daughters know and feel how loved they are by their parents. yes i probably should have said nothing to those people, but i didnt do or say anything wrong. but they messed with my kid......and were browns fans. haha. go steelers

I travel a lot for work and have been around a lot of fans from different sports....NFL, NHL, NCAAFB. And I really just don't get the "holier than thou" attitude of fans from certain teams. This includes Steelers fans. Passion and pride are very integral to being a fan, and that is irregardless to a team's historical win-loss record. By your own account, the Browns fans' never said anything directly and you're kids were oblivious to their comments, so I'm not sure why you felt the need to interject your own prejudices and confront the fans you thought were saying something to "mess with your kid".

Believe me, I'm well aware of the parental protection instinct, but there doesn't seem to be a direct attack on your children and the words, "I just want to say it so bad" don't convey an all encompassing message of hate. But that is where your mind jumped to.

But they are Browns fans, so they deserve what they get. ****ing please... It doesn't matter if their sons and daughters fight and die for their country or help build this nation in whatever way they do, they are just Browns fans. And who cares what those older fans had to pay to attend the HOF. But I'm better than them because I root for a team that has a better win-loss record. What a small minded way to go through this world.....

Maybe the HOF should take the time to fix their displays. They seem to be crooked from your pictures:)

congrats to your daughter chief. i hope her team did well in columbus. i get the protective parent thing.

i used to live in columbus for 5-6 years and it ain't the same now as it was then that is for sure. many that live there came from everywhere else when the boom started. some parts good and some parts not so good. canton though always seemed friendly and we still enjoy going there if it's just for a weekend. good grub around there. i went to school in akron just up the road, and that has changed too. cleveland i never cared for nor do i enjoy cincinnati. real a holes from there. the HOF is a great trip though. they have added on since i was last there so i'm due a trip again. next time take your kids to the mckinnley tomb and liabrary just across the freeway from the HOF in a huge park. lots of stuff for the kids at the museum and library to do.

in columbus try city bar-b-que next time. good grub. you can enjoy the next browns steelers matchup even more when we next kick their arses. :smiley1::cool:
