I guess Haley threw the 5 INTs?

Still think it is Haley's play calling? Not!

Ben was terrible,it's on film but who's idea was it to come up with such a atrocious gameplan to attack a teams strength. It seems painfully obvious that this team doesn't do any scouting or game planning or else how do you explain such a asinine plan...what the hell actually goes on during the week and how does the HC sign off on such garbage....

1st and goal from the 3 with 3 straight passes against the top ranked pass defense?

I will say this to the people who want to blame Haley, Ben ran a no huddle and how did that work out? There is more than just Haley to blame, I have said before with the talent on this offense even the worst play calling could/should score. this is more about Ben just not being on and if we want to go anywhere we need Ben to get fixed!

Watching the Packers and Cowboys. Packers running similar set as the Steelers against soft zone with a 5-10 yard cushion on one side and the Packers players run four yards and turn boom ball is there. That is what Ben should have been doing.

Why not? He has a top ranked offensive line! An elite QB! The best WR in the game! The best RB in the game! Hell any called play should work! Correct! Well this is all fantasy! The Steelers offense is great on paper, but suck on the field.

That 3rd down play to Brown in the endzone was obviously Ben playing for the PI call instead of going for the score.

Up until today, I didn't think it was Haley's play calling. After today, I'm not do sure. There were an awful lot of bone head plays called out there today.

Problem with that is if it had worked - then they'd have to figure out (and we'd have to suffer through) how to waste 4 more plays from the 1yd line. :blackeye:

Did you see Nix just sorta dancing around at the end of the line just looking for someone to block? Heck a dump off to him and maybe you are at the one.

Question: Doesn't the Head Coach have to sign off on the O and D game plan? The Head Coach may delegate the responsibility to create the O and D plans, but the Head Coach must retain the authority to approve such plans. If he does not, then he has abdicated his authority and lost control of his organization.

I 100% agree with you. Why in the heck are they throwing the ball when Jacksonville’s strength is pass defense. I guess they just want to see if our offense is better then their defense and we found that out quickly it isn’t. Just a pathetic performance today.

Can you distinguish between a Haley play call and a Ben play call?

If Ben got hurt and Jones was the starter, would they run the exact same plays, or would they adjust since Jones can't do everything Ben can do? Obviously Ben can no longer do what Ben could do, so coaching adjustments should be made. The Steelers have fallen short in this category since Chuck retired.

How many defeats must be endured before the Steelers prepare for a Ben-less next year? At what time are Jones and/or Dobbs given the opportunity to get the experience to run the show next year?

Depending on how long Ben is out as to whether they change anything. In years past the seek to not reinvent the wheel, on other words just leave things alone and force LJ to play like Ben. If Ben is out for awhile maybe just maybe they tailor the playbook to LJ'S strength.

Unfortunately unless a drastic change is made somewhere ,I'm afraid we will be just good enough to sneak into the playoffs(division is weak) and go out with a whimper. We will suffer through ups and downs this entire season and be just good enough to be out of range of drafting our next franchise QB.....let's see how the n xt 3 games play out but it could be time for our FO to have a little talk with Ben...we can't let him hold us hostage with retirement talk...

I keep wondering if the plays were a result of Ben changing them at the line? Haley can't be that consistently bad! Can he?

That sounds like doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

You're right! Just imagine how many more rings we'd have if Landry had been around with Duce Staley?? Unstoppable!

He isn't comfortable under center and does much better from the shotgun spread formations where he can see the defensive alignment.
