    http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2017...er-tantrum-its-unfortunate-he-acted-that-way/

“He got upset because he was open, which I can understand, sometimes that happens…it’s not like I intentionally missed him, it’s not like I intentionally didn’t throw it to him. I was doing what my reads tell me to do, I don’t even want to say I made a mistake, because I was reading the side I was supposed to read. It’s just unfortunate that it happened, and it’s unfortunate that he acted and reacted that way.”

Ben even took us onto the sidelines and shared what he said to Brown right after the play.

“I told him on the sideline, ‘AB, just come talk to me, ask me what happened, tell me that you were open.’ You know, if that were Heath Miller, I’d probably ask Heath on the sideline, ‘Hey Heath, were you open?’ and he’d probably tell me ‘No,’ because he wouldn’t want you to feel bad, that’s just who he was…that goes a lot further than throwing a temper tantrum.”

It’s been pretty well documented that AB cares about one thing and that’s AB. I’m not surprised at all and would be shocked if it doesn’t happen again.

Yeah, I thought the part about Heath was a nice touch from Ben.

Personally, I think Ben should have kept this in house and not said anything to the media. To the media, the statement should have been something like: "sometimes emotions run high during a hard game against a division rival like that. We've talked about it, and are on to the Jaguars."

The more I think about it, the more I think that the bad judgement in this situation is on Ben. The Heath thing is nice, but should have stayed between him and AB IMO. The last thing we need is for AB to be offended by Ben on this, and have it linger.

I disagree. AB made this public with his very public display. He essentially called out Ben for making a mistake. Ben is just following suit. AB needs to realize his incredible talent doesn't make him more important than the team. It was a selfish act and deserved to be called such.

Man, I miss Heath Miller. Heath would have gone to AB in his very unassuming way and said enough already.

Bringing up Heath is (not so subtle) code for "that is how an all class guy handles things."

Ben misses Heath, and in a sense I think Ben is halfway home so to speak, NFL is full of media darlings, fantasy football peeps, and is just basically turning into what it shouldn't be. Yet i still watch it, so ill shut up lol. Seriously though, I think players care more about dances and stats, media cares about politics, fans about fantasy football lol.

I just want my team to win, not at any cost like the cheats, but close.

I dont have a problem with Ben saying this. AB isnt getting the message behind closed doors, its not as if they haven't talked about this stuff in private. Maybe AB needs public humiliation before he gets the message, like when he was all apologetic after the facebook live thing.

I think Ben is really sick of AB's act. I hope he can tune him out and continue to spread the ball around, thats when the offense is at its most dangerous.

He gets paid to play professional football. He should conduct himself as a professional. I get the touchdown celebrations, even if I sometimes feel some are a little over the top. The sideline tirades are childlike, and they show up his teammates, whether that is the intent or not. That bs should have been over with when he moved on from Pop Warner ball.

I applaud Ben for calling him out, while praising his talent and thereby underscoring his importance to the team. I thought it was handled just fine. I have my doubts that AB takes it to heart. I really think the only message that will sink is for HCMT to bench his ass for a game.

Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes and Antwaan Randle-El didn't do that crap. And they have rings.

Yep, not sure if he should have said it to the media. Don't want to hurt the feelings of a guy who is making millions playing a game when he probably would be working in a car wash if not for the NFL. (sarcasm for sure)

I'm convinced if the Steelers won the Super Bowl but AB only had 1-2 catches and no TD's he would not be happy.

Not sure why you quoted that part and not the more important part

    Tomlin also agreed with Ben

The difference between Ben and Brown in this situation is Brown did what he did in the heat of the moment. Ya it was unnecessary for sure but so was Ben commentating like that on it. Keep this stuff in house, sort it between yourselves. That includes Tomlin. And maybe Ben could try to hit a few wide open receivers(and I certainly don't mean just Brown) That way everyone would be happier

Wide Receivers are divas, always open, always held, always have PI even though a ball is 15 feet thrown over their head.

Diva's with touchdown dances, and most don't block worth a crap.

It just goes with the Territory of wide receivers. Hines Ward just spoiled us all those years because he didn't act like a typical one.

I think it was because he was a converted college QB, and he knew what it was like to play the position.

Reporter: Antonio how do you respond to Ben's very public criticism?

AB: how do I respond?(pulls out a guitar from nowhere ) well I wrote a little song about it, like to hear here it go!

    Starts a blues riff...

Ben misses Heath that much is true, but if Big Ben wants another Superbowl he better SHUT UP AND THROW ME THE DAMN BALL!

    (Smashes guitar over the bench)

SHUT UP AND THROW ME THE DAMN BALL! wooowhooo *Mic drop* turns back to his locker.

I'm realizing that none of you notice the elephant in the room. Ben, has been struggling for real this year and he's not the same Ben that we are used to. Struggled against the brownies (excuse ...first game) ...struggled against the vikes( excuse no run game)... struggled against the bears(excuse...we didnt stand for the flag).... struggled against a pitiful ravens team(excuse... diversion...AB throwing a rant). Look, be honest with yourselves....Ben, know that he has lost the Big Ben's aura. But, its always something going on with this team to take you all attention away from the elephant thats in the room. Ben, if you play better...then everyone would be happy.

I said the article they wrote during opening weekend where Ben was talking about having the rookies with their lockers near him and sharing his stories with them and what it meant to be a Steeler. That sounds like he was ready and this was just a last gasp effort to get number 7 but for all intents and purposes he is done.

I don't completely disagree with that. He played well the second half of last year. I can't see where his skills would have eroded that quickly. I just know he is still the best option we have now, and no doubt he absolutely has to play better.

AB threw a temper tantrum for absolutely no reason. Took his frustration out on an empty water cooler and disrespected his coaches. These are the same reasons that I hate O'dell Beckham Jr. for although we haven't seen the OBJ meltdown yet this season.

If Tomlin had half a spine he would have sat him on the pine for a series or two.

Love AB's talent but his "me first" attitude needs to go.

Really, Ben will throw the ball in triple coverage to AB but you cant find him when he's wide opened? You all act like it was one time and AB went off. Its been more then one time that, not only, did Ben miss AB...he has missed alot of open receivers

Ben on that play was getting pressured I think, he probably didn't see AB get wide open.
