Definitely on D we could use a upgrade at safety....We can use more out of our other ILB position as well.....c'mon VW I know you got it in you...Would love to see them try to get McDonald involved more on O. I know he's dropped a couple but it's not time to abandon him. His skill set could make this O lethal...I think he just needs some confidence. He is trying too hard and was trying to run before he secured it....

I think we've got what we've got on the roster for this season, barring major injuries.

I hope not we really need help at the Safety spot . DHB getting moved to that spot not considered. We need a better Safety . I watched a few Teams employ the single high this week with great success . These Teams are playing 1 guy 30 yards deep as a true Safety , we need to get a guy like that . I am sure DHB could do it but he will never get the chance .So go get another guy with height and speed who can make open field plays .

As O's are changing so are the D's , I

Having Tuitt and Cam helps big time. One goes down and the other teams rushing goes up.

Trust me, outside of one guy, it was never really considered. :smiley1:

No doubt, man. Aside from the 50-year run, the Ravens rushing offense was just horrible.

Aside from the assassination, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?

The run defense was certainly much better against the Ravens, but they still gave up two long runs. Part of the problem is Wilcox, who missed tackles on that one and the overtime run by Cohen the previous week. The play of the safeties continues to leave the Steelers vulnerable to game-changing runs.

The job of the FS as I would like to play it DHB could do . When Teams go single high 30 yards deep they are playing tight man and daring the O to take more time and throw it deep . It gives the D a extra Defender to stop the quick routes or to send at the QB . In other words maximum coverage or maximum pressure or a combo of the 2.

In that true Single High FS deep he is really only there as the last line of Defense . As I stated before be able to cover lots of ground and make open field tackles . The work that DHB does as a gunner matches that perfectly .

Plus he has showed the ability to run down guys on turnovers that other players could not and get those players on the ground . If anyone can argue that he can't cover lots of ground or that he can't make open field tackles. I am all ears. If not then no reason he could not play that true deep FS in the way I suggest .

I am going to put together some single high tape from other Teams so peeps can see what these guys are really being asked to do . At that point just take the DHB name from the equation and insert his skills that he has showed in that regard . IMO any reasonable person would believe there is a good chance he could be effective in that role .

Again not a staple of the D , but another wrinkle we could use in certain situations and against certain Teams . Ask yourself this ? If we wanted to play a single high look who on this Team would be better at covering the ground ? Who would be better at open field tackling? Who would have a better chance to go up and combat a deep ball ?
