I'm saying all the coaches aside from Mike Munchak. I'm asking this because I'm watching 2 teams that are playing well with new coaching and basically the same players. The Rams look legit, I'm amazed at the difference Sean McVay has made with mostly the same offensive players and McDermott is getting more out of the players he has in Buffalo with Tyrod Taylor as the QB. That makes me wonder if we would look better with a coach that knows more about X's and O's rather than double speak and tough talk. So what do the rest of you think? Do we have a talented roster that lacks coaching and discipline or do we just have a lot of over rated players that we believe to be better than they really are with the exception of a few guys everyone knows are great?

I think it's more about developing an identity of what you want to do. Having a system sticking to your system and not getting exposed. Once you get exposed your going to see more and more of the same attack.
Look what the Ravens tried to do, they basically mimicked the same same game plan the bears used. Trying to use stretch runs, they had success sometimes, but more times than not the Steelers were prepared for it.

Look how New England is struggling, their defensive back field and not sealing the edge is terrible. When it's a copy cat league, be prepared to adjust and be ready, if not your not going to look well in the coaching department.

Young coaches can have success. But, I think it's a lot of things, having a good system, avoiding injury to major players, and getting hot at the right time. If that happens, then you look like a good coach, and when you have exception to win, that is a good thing, when you have expect to lose it's not. Teams like the Bills, Rams, and some others, might be heading to the expect to actually, win every week, as oppose to not having a shot against a good team like in the past.

Hue Jackson is supposedly an excellent X's and O's coach.
Would you trade Tomlin for him?
Sounds like you are basing your opinion of whether our coaches know X's and O's based on press conferences.
You say the Rams have the same players but its a whole new receiving corps and new left tackle.

3-1... definitely time to blow it all up. Fire everyone. There's no way to rebound from 3-1 overall, and 2-0 in division and conference.

I don't think that the Tomlin haters have ever blamed (i.e. given him credit) for a win. Don't you know that the team is winning in spite of him, and he's just a doofus cheerleading on the sidelines?

I am also an avid Pittsburgh Pirate fan and that message board is always bit$hing and moaning to fire the Coach. The Pirates could have the greatest baseball Coach of all time and still stink. In the early 90's Jimmy Leyland was considered to be great in Pittsburgh but once the cheap a$$ owners got rid of the good players his record stunk. My point is this, a Coach is as great as the players he has. I always remember that Bill Belichick was 36-44 in the 4 years he coached the Cleveland Browns making the playoffs once. Give him Tom Brady and he is one of the all time greats.

    Of course!

He is the best one obviously. Even better than the world renowned Dallas Cowgirls cheerleading squad!!

It's a fair question. I guess we have to see how it plays out. Should have 2 games on the division, Patriots, and a game or tied with two team in the AFC West.

Well considering it takes a average of 10+ years to get 36 wins in Cleveland nowadays......I'd say there's no better coach in the history of sports, better at making chicken salad out of chicken ****....and the playoffs once in 4 years.....Belichick=GOAT

Ummm...why in the world would you leave Munchak out? It was the offensive line that was committing the majority of the penalties yesterday. It seems insane to use the players being undisciplined as a reason to discuss coaching and then immediately absolve the coach of the most undisciplined group.

Well, you know, it was with Cowhers players.

You have to be kidding me???? Are you really questioning Munchs ability as a line coach?

He is hands down the best offensive line coach in the league. Bar none.

Pretty much this unless you have an extreme outlier in one direction or the other.
No, I'm not. I am questioning the idea that penalties committed by the players are the fault of the coaches. If they are, then you have to blame Munchak as his players were overwhelmingly the ones committing the penalties yesterday. If it is absurd to question Munchak then it must be absurd to blame the coaches for the penalties the players commit.

Tomlin is doing his job well. The losses are on him & the wins are because of the players. He understands leadership & responsibility.

Yeah against a Browns rookie QB, Flacco, Vikings backup QB. This is a bad coaching staff and they hold the team back.

Belichick would do wonders with this group.

Lets see...3 rookie qb's and flacco who should be retired right now...and haven't produced not one 30 pt game or truly dominated a whole game. Thos team is all over the place with blame from week to week. I truly do not believe that under coach tomlin that we can bring it all together to win the big one...right now.

Belichick's D has given up 128 points in 4 games so far this season. A carpenter is as good as the tools he has to work with.

It wasn't meant to be. Texans (who they almost lost to), Chiefs are legit and Cam Newton isn't no slouch.

I swear every year people get amnesia and start saying how the Pats aren't that good all the way through the Super Bowl.

Cam has been playing very poorly and Panthers haven't been a good team overall this year. Thats why I thought you were big funny, NE just lost to an inferior team.

What does us losing to the Bears have anything to you saying that NE doesnt lose to inferior teams?

Everyone knows we lose games like the Bears game every year.
