Pending the Browns gas him, would you be ok with Hue Jackson as OC in 18?

I think the only way Haley leaves is if he gets offered a HC position that intrigues him.

But yes, I would take Hue in a second. Wanted him when they were searching for an OC the last time.

We will need someone that can work and develop a young Qb. I hope the Steelers
understand this going forward. Todd Haley would not be my choice for this project. I am open
to whoever can do the above.

Good point on the personnel requirements. Why not Haley, out of interest? He's improved Ben as a passer, I think.

Nope. Haley is the man with the plan. The day he leaves I will weep like an indian looking at litter.

I really like Hue Jackson as an OC, and he may end up being a good head coach in Cleveland as well. I think he gets at least another season in Cleveland regardless of their record this year, and probably gets even more time if they start trending upwards. I think that the Browns leadership is well aware that their instability has been part of the problem.

Jackson's not going anywhere. I think the Browns will have far from the worst team in football this year and will actually resemble a bonafide NFL team at times. The current ownership and administration has some Steeler influence and they know that they'll need to establish some stability to continue to improve. He's there for at least 5 more years.

I am not sure Todd would have the patience needed with a young QB. Again just my opinion.

Just a quick question, how do you like our offense the past 3 years with all the talent that is on the field on that side of the ball?

Ah, ok, I can see that. I guess a lot of it would come down to how well the OC works with the QB coach as well.

The offense has been maddeningly inconsistent, for a range of reasons. Some of it is Haley's playcalling, and there's no doubt he tries to get a little too clever at points. But the inconsistency was there with Arians as well, which would suggest there's more to it than just the OC.

Ben has been awful. Judging coaches, schemes, and other players after that fact is hard to do. We're watching #7 play his last season and he better get interested or we're going 10-6 with a first round loss.

Im the last person to defend Haley but no OC would look good the way Ben played yesterday. His first 2 games havent been anything to write home about either.

The offense doesn't execute the plays. O-line got blown up all day. Ben was off target, Bell has regressed from not showing up in preseason and all WRs have been mediocre to downright crappy besides AB.

What about Bell, 52 carries in 3 games for a piddly total of 180 yards a 3.5 average and 1 TD, defenses have shut him down so far for a 60 yard average over 3 games, so he isnt helping Ben or the offense at a level where he had the team and fans believing he was going to run away with the rushing title this year....

Bell has been exceptionally average this year. Watson or Connor would have provided the same production. Not saying they would be better, but Bell is no longer an elite RB, IMO. Bears no-name RBs outshined him yesterday.

Bell missing camp hurt, I admit that now but my opinion was formed partly by an incorrect assumption, I thought he had missed camps in the past during his suspensions. He only missed the start of the season after attending all of camp. It was important for him to be out there practicing.

Having said that, dont know how you dont recognize him improving each game. We are essentially watching him have his camp now. I predict another couple games and Bell will be back to where he was. Maybe 3 more games. And yes, just as he did when he missed games due to suspension, he will once again be up their with the other top backs in production by the end of the season.

Completely agree, Bell will be the Bell of old come 10/8. He will have one more tough one against the Ravens this week but i look for him to finally get going against the Jags. Once he gets going there is no looking back. He just needs that 1 game to do it.
The Ravens always play us tight so i dont expect it this week, especially after they were embarrassed.
The Jags game will be the 5th game, by that time preseason is over. Thats when you will see Bell as the guy.
As long as he is at the top of his game by the playoff push im happy, which i think he will be.
He is only 25 years old guys, he is no where near "done" or "not elite". He is only gonna get better.
