So, the Bears played tough vs. Atl., and then got destroyed by Tampa (who I believe is a team on the rise, big time and should make the playoffs).

I also know they have been hit hard by the injury bug. But most are listed as "questionable."

But here is what their fans think.

    http://www.bearsfansonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11724

They seem hopeless. Glennon has been awful, but coach won't attribute any blame on him. They could pull the hook and put Mitch in, which might not be the best news. He is a rookie, but has shown promise, at least more than Glennon can.

Them being such a downtrodden team concerns me; we know Tomlin's track record vs. the worst teams and it stinks.

Lol. Glennon is 1-0 vs the Steelers. I'll bet they don't know that. They have a better chance than they think :lolol:

Glennon played very well last time he started vs. the Steelers as a Buc. Glennon was more "clutch" in that game at Heinz Field than Ben has been since 2010.

    .... Okay....

It is also worth mentioning that Pittsburgh had a defensive rebuild in 2014 as well. Ryan Shazier and Stephon Tuitt were mere rookies. In addition, we still did not have an adequate pass rush either.

This time will be different provided if the offense can gain cohesion. This defense is light years better than the one Glennon facef in 2014; home or away being a non factor.

Comparing this team to that 2014 team is quite silly. :lolol:

The speculation on their SB Nation site is a decision has been made to start Trubisky after their bye week, it comes from on high, and Fox is taking the heat instead of throwing his boss (the owner) under the bus.

I do not think John Fox wants to blame his boss unless he is gunning for the unemployment line.

The pass rush has been good vs. a rookie QB who holds the ball too long and a career backup. Before we call the pass rush adequate... let's see how the pass rush performs against Rodgers and Brady later this year. Hell... add Flacco, Smith and Stafford to the list, too.

GLennon had a whopping 99 yds passing against the bucs..... I get the feeling that he will get benched for the rookie late in the 3rd quarter against us.... this is our breakout game

You just contradicted your own argument.

Nine sacks in two games is considered adequate given the circumstamces. If anything, nine sacks in two games, regardless of who is out there, is a good defensive showcasing.

Furthermore, nevermind the front seven that is vastly superior than that 2014 squad, this secondary's talent level in comparison to that team is the equivalent of the ground beneath your feet to the blue sky. Ike Taylor and Troy Polamalu were way past their primes.

On the other hand, in spite of his defensive pass interference penalties, Artie Burns is becoming the player we need him to be and Mike Mitchell is still the steady enforcing presence. Add the likes of Joe Haden and Mike Hilton and I do say that this team's defense is, once again, light years beyond what it was when they faced Mike Glennon in 2014.

    This defense has gotten from "old, slow and done" to "young, fast and fun". There is no disagreement within this truth. It is as I stated;

Comparing this team to that 2014 team is quite silly.

    Concur.

This will put that overrated cliche to bed for good. This team is no longer rebuilding on the defensive side. This defense is essentially there to be good enough to help out the offense when the offense gets its groove going again.

A rookie quarterback who can give them a chance to win but is not starting behind a solid interior line because reasons.

Outside of that, not much else.

It seems like a "trap game" being just before we play the Ratbirds, but it is so early in the season and the average age of our players is now younger, I`m not worried too much at this time. I think I saw just enough against the Vikes to make me feel a bit more confident after reflecting on the game.

This article seems a bit optimistic on our defense, but I suppose a couple legit points were made: https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.c...ownplayed-due-to-case-keenum-nfl-keith-butler

I guess Pittsburgh is not the only team that has fickle fans lol Glennon has played 2 games as a Bear.. He is doing fine. Give him some time.

Changing the narrative without continuing the central point of a debate usually means that the person who is attempting to make a rebuttal (this case being you), has no other form of counter arguments in themselves towards the opposing perons points (which would be mine) within the debate itself.

Does this mean you do believe we can win against Chicago? Or are you no longer focused on a quarterback that, for the most part, will see a different team?

He may not and hopefully he gets pounded into the ground but I find it odd people give up so easily. He many never develop into anything in Chicago but its too early to stick a fork in him. lol

    Indeed.

It is a bit too early too give up on him but should he fail to rise to the occasion Sunday then there those rumblings will get more audible.

I posted my prediction. I predicted the Bears to win, given the Steelers record vs. sub-.500 teams over the past 4 years. The Steelers are ripe for a letdown... and they usually play down to sub-par competition. History has shown this.

You make it sound like the defense has somehow arrived when they haven't beaten anybody yet who will even sniff a divisional round berth, much less a conference championship. Vikings could very well be a playoff team with Bradford at QB. Who knows? That Vikings team was very limited with Keenum at QB.. and the Steelers defense had yet another mulligan like they did the week before vs. the Browns. Again... let's see how the Steelers D performs vs. QBs with rings.

Yeah you are basically setting yourself up to be able to win no matter what. If they do lose and your prediction is correct then you get to gloat, if they struggle but still win again you will claim you were right they play down to the competition and they repeated history. If they blow them out and win in convincing fashion you will continue with the let's see how the play against QB'S with rings. It's a no win scenario for anyone who debates with you.

We aren't losing to the bears but will to the raisins. Their D is good again. Ben mysteriously gets hurt vs bears? Lol

Wish Ben can throw 6 tds vs them each game. Hairball sends 4 drops 7 every time and we can't run the ball
