I'm mostly a Steeler, NFL fan and watcher. Not real up on college FB. Couple of questions.

    1) Penn State destroyed power house Georgia State, 56-0. Great win. He do they play next, The Little Sisters of the Poor? Why do they schedule games like this? Is it good for their ego? A practice game and make money at the same time? What a joke.

    2) From what I remember, Pitt has sucked since after Dorsett played for them. Why can't they put up a competitive team?

    Thanks!

I'll add a little bit to this. Yes, it seems like they are beating up on peewee football. For Penn State, its like preseason. But the peewees come asking for it. Several reasons: They otherwise would never play in front of a crowd that big. Great experience for the kids even if they loose. They also get 40% of the income which for a small team may fund their entire season. For Georgia State, their president is a Penn State alumni and helped arrange it. He said it was a good opportunity for his team.

    It's not a bad thing.

Although, kicking Pitts butt was nice.

I certainly wasn't thinking of Pitt as a pee wee last year. Right now it's a little iffy. When they aren't playing Penn State, I root for Pitt.

As for ruining our season? All things considered, we had a very good season last year. Much better than I expected for a growing team.

Yes, I agree on the financial aspect. My stupid mother effing Huskers lost to Northern Illinois last week. But Northern Illinois got roughly $800K to play Nebraska. Those smaller schools do get some hefty sums to play the bigger name schools. My niece goes to Kent St and they played Clemson last week and now Louisville this week. I'm sure they are getting some huge financial gains for those games.

Appalachian State over Michigan. I have friends from Boone NC who drove up for that one.

Watching Iowa makes me want our block numbers back.

Other than that, good defensive struggle so far.

    Fantastic game!

Iowa has nothing to be ashamed of. They played outstanding. That defense is amazing.

Congrats, PSU. I think you know it only gets harder. ;)

Iowa should crack the top 25 on this loss. I think they proved they're for real. Probably won't happen. but they'll get there soon.

Or PSU is extremely overrated. I'll go with Iowa is for real.

(It's been years since I've been able to watch college football live. This one was all I ever asked for).

I'll go with that place is hard to play in for some reason and Penn State didn't seem ready for some of the defensive stuff they were doing.

Every time he went to change the play at the last second I was cringing, because you could see the line was confused on blocking assignments after the check. It was way too loud to try and do what they were doing most of the game.

Really came down to 3 plays by Iowa's offense that allowed them to be in that position.

43 and that back-up tackle on defense was killing it though!

    ?

Is that how the college contracts worked? Thought it was sufficient but not that much.

Was reading that Troy receieved 985k just for playing LSU.
